Who's hand do I gotta shake if I think it's the Wii?

I'm a sucker for platformers and side-scrollers.
... or am I just a sucker?

"Black Ops is a con. We were sold an unfinished inferior product. We bought it on the back of our experience with Modern Warfare 2- which we realised how much we had missed- and surmised Black Ops gives Call of Duty a bad name. Treyarch couldn't reach the hurdle Infinity Ward set, and they missed it by a longshot."

Many bought BlackOps because they felt MW2 gave CoD a bad name and hoped that Trey would do things differently.
Trey wasn't supposed to r...

Hmm, didn't read his first comment. His second comment mentioned "racers" instead of sims.

If we go by racing sims, then there's like what... three on the consoles?

I'll agree though, GT5 does top any racing sim on consoles.
I just don't like it when people take a game they like to be the best and then try to show it as a fact. It's opinions. =)

As much as I hate DeadSpace, I did enjoy the developper interviews.

One of the interesting things they mentioned was that horror is a lot like comedy. Each scare is a punch line, and if you use the same punch lines, the jokes get old.

It seems the older games felt scarier because for many, it was the first horror game they played. The punch lines, so to speak, felt fresh. SystemShock2 scared the snozzleberries out of me, perhaps more so because it was the fir...

The Mods must be crazy.

Now... are these little stories part of the general rule, or an exception to the rule?
All my (short) experience tells me is that people with lower bubbles generally make lower quality comments.

A few 1-bubblers are exceptions who actually do make intelligent/funny comments, and a few 5+ bubblers make horrendous comments ... but for the most part, things are generally fine.

Although, I did think bubble #3 was a...

@ Bishop-br

A PC doesn't cost $1000 unless if you're buying pre-built. In which case, you're doing it wrong. (A snob comment on my part)

Quality doesn't always come from a push towards profit (if anything, you'll find the opposite to be true).
I believe that firms such as NaughtyDog and Polyphony release good games because they have a passion for gaming. That's the important part. Being paid is just a perk of doing what they lo...

Are we talking about consoles or including PCs?

There's a few simulators for the ole 'puter that can outclass GT5.
Probably isn't on the same visual level though

... although driving/gameplay is subjective. Some prefer Burnout over a GT game.

To each his own.

... That's going to put off a lot of people that don't necessarily plan to be plugged into the net at all times.

For those that have looked past the tag in the current gen, I doubt they'd switch over in the next-gen.

It'd be easier to do if it was funny.
As it stands, it's just plain silly.

Interesting read though.

BC2, Stalker, Amnesia, Metro2033, StarCraft2, Brotherhood, HotPursuit, and BioShock2.

... I think thats the games I played that don't get much of a mention (there's the obvious good games that've already been mentioned by others)

... plus a lot of indie games.
It was a good year for indie games.
Not necessarily a bad year for gaming either.

Battlefield2 started the modern-day FPS theme.
... or was that Counter-Strike...?
MW made it popular, but the trend was there.
It isn't really that crystal clear.

What MW did start was the RPG-style unlock system in multiplayer, which has now resulted in almost every game incorporating it.
Apparently, people find grinding to be fun.
Hence why PC version of BlackOps is full of 24/7 Nuketown servers. Fast exp means people will play th...

With mainstream attention comes watered down games where genuine gameplay gets prpgressively replaced by fancy visuals.

Not saying that's going to be the case of UC3, but it is a trend in games in general.
(CoD being the most glaring example)

EDIT: @Revenge; That's good then. =)

Naughty Dog is a new developer?
O.o

List was missing quite a few names. However, I think it was going more towards individual people rather than companies.

Regardless, Schafer should've been on it.

Depends which demographic you ask.

To some, the original game was pure gold, and a sequel is anticipated.

Although he wasn't a bad character... looking at the competition, urgh, he shouldn't have won.
Best performance also stung a bit...
Who decided the winners?

At least they got the most anticipated game right.
