^ Those were false alarms.

Well, I wouldn't exactly consider it credible when they're a sony first-party dev commenting about a rival platform.

^ You need steam to play MW2 and BlOps...

... and I think he was mainly talking about the e-sports scene, where CS has more player than CoD (ProMod for CoD4 had success, but that's about it)

Isn't that how it worked in BF2?

When you pressed 'Q', the default command was 'Spotted', so tapping it would spot an enemy.

It could be refined (maybe use two different keys?) but the essence is there.

I could sworn I read 'BF3 to use punkbuster, DICE still undecided over common-sense'
:D

Oh well, not like they have much of a choice. It's either PB or VAC, and VAC would require it to be a steamworks game.
PB is decent... it adds a bit more latency and gets fussy over little details, but it does the job most of the time.

The screenshot isn't desgusting, the fact that it isn't getting attention is.

That's mostly up to the publisher I think.

That, and dedicated servers aren't that practical for a game that has a userbase in the millions.

Mafia2 isn't an FPS. I'm guessing that was a typo.

Also, putting Bioshock in twice isn't that fair when the series has always been an FPS.
That, and in 2K's defense, most of those FPS games are SP-centric and aren't generic military shooters. So they're giving something different.

As for this reboot, it seems they're trying to reel in more audience from the console side... but if that's the goal, why put XCOM in the gam...

I thought Assassins Creed did that?

FrozenSynapse shows how wrong they are as well... then again, that game isn't played in droves like FPS games, so maybe they're right.

They have a point that, if they want to sell a game across multiple platforms, then a TBS isn't going to have the same mass-appeal as an FPS.
... so they're going to where the market is.

... do you know what an 'if statement' is? O.o

^ That would be the death of consoles, not PCs, as you'd essentially be getting rid of one of console's biggest advantages: static hardware that doesn't have to be upgraded and guarantees that a game will be playable.

That, and console upgrades have been attempted in the past... and failed.

"Not only that, but there are alot of niche titles like Journey (I can't wait for that game!!!), Flower, and Pixeljunk that are only on consoles."

There is an equal number of such 'unique' games on PC from the indie scene (ex Polynomial, ThePath) and even some mods add unique twists (such as 'TheCube' mod for Fallout3 or 'DearEsther' for HalfLife2)
In fact, it seems the PC market (in terms of exclusives) is pushing more towards th...

With BC2's extremely-low price for two days, coupled with TF2 becoming F2P, most communities of other multiplayer FPS games have taken a serious hit.

Oh well, BC2 has more players than either MW2 or BlOps on PC.

@Darkfocus

It's because sometimes valve doesn't check the discounts offered for each game, and often times the prices contain mistakes (which get corrected within the first 5~10 minutes)
For example, on saturday, Terraria was for $2.50, but then was corrected to $5.00 later on.

In today's case, DoW2 Retribution was initially for 75% (so I grabbed it) and then was corrected back to 50% off.

Delighted I got a chance to pick up DoW:Retribution for only $7.50.

Why not? HalfLife2 does it.... =/

Though I kinda like the talking protagonist. It feels more... don't know what word to use... human?

I had issues with my steam version of BadCompany2, so I called up EA's support chat and they were quite helpful.
Cleared up my problem and gave me a few veteran levels as well. =)

"secondly.

they got THEIR FAIR FUCKING SHARE."

You're right, they got their fair share for that one copy you bought.
Now they want to impose their share on every used copy that gets bought thereafter.
What's wrong with that? They made the game, so they're free to do what they want with it.

You got a problem with t...
