Seems more like it's trying to compete with JustCause2 than GTA4.
Doesn't that one character in GunBound have gunpowder in his boomerangs?
Well, they're pretty explosive in any case.
...it's only the top rated game this gen. =/
Actually, Magicka suffers from some major performance issues on PC.
So, it isn't a game I would recommend to most non-tech-inclined folks.
^ Maybe it's your avatar.
EDIT: Not if he keeps eating my cookies.
... and there goes the peace treaty.
Is it me, or did the PHROUENG sound that plays when you get detected get progressively less louder as the series has gone by?
I remember in MGS1, everything would be calm and quiet and then you get spotted and the PHROUENG-sound would be so loud it could cause a panic attack.
Either I got used to it, or they toned it down.
Amnesia is a stealth game... sort of.
Though you're right that it is shifting towards combat.
Games aren't being made with the mindset that 'you will have to sneak through or else you'll fail', rather, it's more along of the lines of 'you can sneak through or go guns ablazing'
ArkhamAsylum for example can be 'stealthy' if you want to play it that way. Games nowadays seem to be more about giving you a choice rath...
Destruction and big maps go together.
You can't have any real destruction on the smaller CoD maps as that would destroy the gameplay.
Big maps wouldn't make much sense for CoD either as it isn't designed for large-scale warfare (outside of UO)
It does have vehicles though. Sort of.
... and the engine is fine considering that is one of the few (only?) released engines that runs at 60fps while still looking better than some ...
^ If it makes things any easier, remember that recycling helps the planet.
You'd be supporting Activision's eco-friendly business practices.
You start off by saying that Uncharted is better due to its awards and critical acclaim, and that Gears being more popular (sales?) doesn't matter as that is totally different.
You then go on to say that forza isn't the king of racing sims despite its higher scores because scores don't matter and that sales are in GT's favour so it is the king.
You then give advice on how not to look stupid.
... I am... impressed.
... Yea, it was kind of odd to see the wording 'Black Ops', which I associate with stealth and espionage...
... and seeing a guy holding two handguns (not silenced like Agent47 either) with dual-rifle-slings.
Though it looked good visually.
Am I the only one who feels it ended too quickly?
Didn't feel like three weeks.
I'm going to have withdrawal symptoms... =/
I never really understood that argument.
It would make sense if exclusives were the only games released, but there are a lot of great multiplats releasing in 2011 anyways.
If a 360 fans has 15 multiplats + 2 exclusives to look forward to, while a PS3 fan has 15 multiplats + 5 exclusives to look forward to, does that small difference really make things all that different?
With all the great games releasing this fall, I'd actually expect AlanWake to...
Well, it still is about pushing products.
Sony's interests aren't restricted to just game consoles. They're also heavily invested in TVs, and promoting 3D games is a way of getting people (both consumers and other devs) interested towards 3DTVs.
Also, Sony's strategy is based around making gains through software sales (i.e. games) whereas MS tries to make its gains through XBL... and most of Sony's exclusives haven't really had any dir...
Tell that to the KillingFloor medics.
Those bastards just zip-zap all over the place with their road-runner-like speed, rushing head-on into the zombie horde and disappearing in the horizon. God knows what they do for the remainder of the wave.
They'll show up back at the shop, jizzing wads of cash all over the place.
Sorry for the explicit language, but that really is what happens. =/
Maybe there was a leap year? :D
Well, the PC version was for $25 on D2D today...
I thought DukeNukemForever was the most ambitious? O.o
I'll just wait for Pachter's take on it then.
