Yea, but the movie-to-game trend is likely to get bigger as gaming becomes a bigger market, especially if they incorporate motion controls to attract kids/casuals who would likely want a game related to their favourite movie.

Rendering games at those resolution would be kinda pointless if TVs themselves are only up to 1080p

64x AA is a bit extreme.
Modding and dedicated servers are not exactly related to hardware. Modding could certainly be possible, but by the looks of things, fewer PC games are coming with mod tools anyways, so it's doubtful if modding would even exist as the tech advances further.
Stalker and Minecraft (and well, most 'open' FPS games) can be scary because they don't use cheap tricks to get scares.
If you hear something around the corner in Amnesia or FEAR, then that usually means that the game is just trying to scare you and nothing is actually there.
Whereas in a game like Stalker, if you hear a bloodsucker's roar, then more often than not, a bloodsucker is actually there.
... but then I can just as easily make a list of PC exclusives. Starcraft, Civ, RedOrchestra, yaddi yaddi yadda.
Not that it'd really be fair since you're essentially comparing three systems vs one... then again, the PC can play Wii games through an emulator, so I suppose 2vs2 is fair afterall. =/

... It's kind of funny, actually, as there's not that many people who'd actually defend GTA4 as a good game.

I only looked at a few of those articles you posted, but the agree/disagree ratio is much higher from 'PS3 trolls' than the 360 ones.
I do think that there are more pro-PS3 users than pro-360 ones (not talking about trolls, just people that prefer a console)
... however, it seems the PS3-troll/360-troll ratio is about the same. Meh.
ClearSky was a bug-fest on launch as well.
CoP is about the only one that was functional on release.
Still, bugs are part of Stalker's charm. They add a little flavour of mystery... well, except for the game-breaking ones which just plain suck.
When you're soaked in the atmosphere, something like this can really scare you.

This isn't really any new development.
EA has had a store for quite some time. All they did was recently re-name it to Origin.
Most publishers have their own digital store as well (even indie devs have their own stores)
SystemShock2 would give DeusEx a challenge... if only it were on steam. =(
DeusEx had a lot more meat, but I always felt that SS2 was a better game.
It's amazing how far these old games had gone in terms of expanding gameplay and design, yet depressing that FPS games haven't improved much since then (actually seems like they've been degenerating)
Stalker is probably the only game that comes close, but it's still quite a ways off.
It's a real-life picture with the UI thrown over it.
The soft shadows on the ground as well as the detail on the trees leads me to believe that the image isn't in-game.
Also, you can search for images on google (click on the camera icon on 'google images' and it'll take the url of an image and search for matching results)
I did a search and got a bunch of wallpaper results of a real photos that don't have the crysis UI.
