@ SnukaTheMan- Are we playing the same game? Crysis did not look bad by any stretch of the word. My graphics impression: the guns were detailed, there was little to no screen tear, the lighting was excellent and it didn't look all brown and boring.
The one thing Crysis 2 needs to improve on are fine tuning the controls, killing bugs, fixing animation and overall net code. Outside of that, it was a smooth, if a bit fast paced, game.
The humor was mostly in poor taste. The game play was different but didn't hold my attention for long. I appreciate the competitive co-op aspect and competing for the highest score though. Perhaps the demo wasn't a good part of the game to show off. I may or may not rent it.
While a port of Zelda Oot is considerably cheaper to make than a brand new game, Nintendo wouldn't make it if gamers didn't want it. If there was an option of a portable classic being re-released or no Zelda at all, I think most would choose the former.
If the port improves on the original, even if a little, it will be appreciated. I played Rayman 2 originally on N64 and re-bought it for Dreamcast. Suffice to say, the experience (60 fps) was better and the controls we...
I still want this game, however my interest has waned a little bit. If SW The Old Republic is announced for consoles, I would be happy. My laptop is getting older by the day...:-p
@ ElementX The PSP2/NGP has 3G data capabilities. I'm not sure if it will have 3G voice though. There is always Skype.
I agree though that $300-$400 seems fair considering high end mobile phones are much more expensive. The Verizon iPhone 4 coming out has an unsubsidized price of $650 for the 16 GB and $750 for the 32 GB. It makes me wonder how much memory Sony is going to bundle with the PSP2. Hopefully more rather than less.
Earlier I was quoted as saying $400. That answer still stands, however I wouldn't mind if it was $300. If its much more than that I will need to save a little bit more. If Sony didn't take a loss per unit there is no doubt it would be much much more. Considering high end cell phones cost $500 to $700 its amazing PSP2 will have all the specs listed by launch, will cost much less, and go without cell phone carrier subsidizing.
For anyone interested in NGP dimensions in inches:
7.17 (L) x .732 (W) * 3.29 (H)
It was hard for me to visualize the size of NGP/PSP2. This should help anyone that doesn't think in metric everyday or those that only do so during science class :-p
Its reasonably thin and a tad bit too big for jeans. What does everyone else think of the size factor?
It would be pretty sweet if Infinity Blade was announced for NGP. Thats the first thing that came to mind.
I think your writing it off a little too soon, you think? Also, what makes you think that 3DS won't have its share of console ports? Look at any N64 remake being released for the 3DS... Handhelds are much more powerful this gen, and both will be awesome. With that being said, the games will control differently if not look much differently from the consoles of today. Thats not a bad thing in my book.
LiveArea seems to be optimized for touch input. I can imagine, that with most live tiles, you will more than likely "touch" to select. Its more intuitive, although I share your sentiments.
I don't think you could make a more feature packed ultraportable. THIS is the reason dedicated game devices will be around forever. Sony went all out, and I'm more than willing to give them my money.
I hope Playstation Suite is available for non-Sony phones. I have a Droid 1. Now THAT would be interesting :-) I would also completely forget about the iPhone forever. iPhone what?
I would gladly pay $400. Wow. I think I just forgot all about the 3DS...sorry Nintendo.
Edit: Would it be awesome if the PSP2 was $250. Yes. Will it be? Not sure. The cheaper it is the better it should sell. I was just saying, they put everything but the kitchen sink in the PSP2...sorry. :-p
Me too! I'm at work, wtf am I going to do?!
As long as there are bad reviews at ign.com. Yes. Its a shame as I used to highly respect ign. I was premium member for 2 years and eventually canceled. Greg Miller is probably the worst, although he is hardly the exception.
I suppose there is always an upside to this news...right? Right? Noooo...:-(
I thought this game was going to be a quick cash in, but it appears to be quite good. Now if only EA would release this game for Android phones, I would be all set. If iOS keeps all of these great games to itself, I may or not switch over.
ElementX- Thanks for filling me in. Combat sounds like a lot of fun and it seems to include the elements of an MMO I would appreciate. Now I just have to find enough time to play it. There are almost too many good games these days. Making a decision of what to buy, is difficult. I expect that the community will be around for a while so whether I start up the game now or later I won't miss out. In the mean time, I hope a trial version becomes available that I can try out. I missed the PSN ...
I'm sure Resident Evil 6 is one of those games. The other is perhaps Monster Hunter. Both of those games are the money makers for Capcom. If they make either of those games, I would expect they show up on consoles, PSP2, 3DS, iOS, and even Android.
Everyone has their opinion :-) And no, I didn't think you were trolling. My point still stands. Some people will buy older games for nostalgic purposes only, even if the game has aged badly. People do what they want with their money regardless, like you said.
I have purchased every PSone Final Fantasy, Metroid NES and Super, Mario 1,2,3, World, Perfect Dark, etc, etc. Why? Good memories. I may or may not get back to all of these games, but they make me remember all the f...
