I think the real question is to see how long the affect of the price cut lasts for both hardware and software. Can PS3 gain new momentum against the 360 in North America this holiday?
NBA 2K has always been much better. EA has a long, long way to go.
I can definitely see the industry eventually headed in the much cheaper, free to play direction. There are way too many games priced at $50 or $60 that are complete failures. The industry has to change.
This is going to be huge. Can't wait to finally get some real details - c'mon Rockstar!
I highly doubt he's done with Sony. If anything, that Twitter would probably be completely shut down if he left Sony. Remember, the KB name and persona is Sony's. This guy is just an actor hired to play the role.
Very odd. I wonder what Sony's up to with this.
They might do it with some add-on meaning you wouldn't have to buy a whole new unit. For now it's all rumors though.
Well that would be interesting - I definitely see the logic in it from a 3rd party publishing standpoint.
Well, yes and no. He oversaw Apple as the company became a dominant force in mobile gaming with iPhone and iPad.
Well, we're going to see another round of consoles, but after that, who knows. It might be more like set top or cable boxes for game services with everything streamed or on demand via cloud.
Apple should be fine. In fact, now might be a good time to buy some stock.
I don't care if it's legal. GameStop is terrible. Taking stuff out of a game and then selling as new? WTF
Well that's precisely the point. Buser is trying to change the concept of free-to-play so that it's high fidelity stuff with HD, physics, animation, solid gameplay, everything you would expect on a console as opposed to some Facebook game.
I'm not quite sold yet, but if the trends continue, Buser makes a solid point. PS3 is certainly leading on consoles when it comes to free to play style games.
I'd add Red Dead Redemption and the original BioShock to Heavy Rain and LA Noire as fantastic examples of storytelling. This professor might be exaggerating slightly but games are showing incredible storytelling potential now.
New consoles might help for a bit, but if game development is truly stagnating and is lacking ideas because it's producing the same shooters over and over again, the new consoles won't fix that.
3DS that's $80 cheaper and has just come off a likely big holiday with Super Mario and Mario Kart. And then of course there's the iPhone and iPad markets. And iPad 3 is strongly rumored to be launching early next year too.
I think it's a slight problem, but the Vita will have other bigger problems to worry about.
Some interesting advice there.
Well MS hasn't done anything yet, but yeah, odds are we'll see some price cuts and bundles for 360 this fall/holiday.
