I think you're forgetting about the Wii IP lineup, like Wii Sports, Wii Fit, Wii Party, etc. It may be casual crap, but it IS new IP from Nintendo. But yeah, it's been a long time since they've done some new character based IP that can appeal to the core.
Well yeah if you're a hardcore gamer you're naturally going to prefer the offerings of MS and Sony over Nintendo.
I think Sony might have better diversity among its IP, but Nintendo's properties remain much more popular
I think it's sad that more games don't have LAN. Everyone's expected to have super fast broadband these days and that's still not the case in the US.
They are definitely pushing it into more core games, but hopefully it stays as an option and not a control mandate
Cool. Some good came out of the outage after all!
Also, Gears it's worth noting is not even owned by MS. It's just published by Microsoft for now.
And Fable, and Kinect stuff from Rare... but yeah, Nintendo and Sony both have way more first party development. This MS exec is smoking crack
Well, if they prefer gaming to bathing, then their hygiene probably is lacking and they wouldn't exactly be sexually appealing. And the vast, vast majority of these gaming girls do NOT look like the sexy chick in that pic for this post.
good beta numbers on Uncharted 3, can't wait for that game!
Seems to go along with that rumor about next OS (whether it's called Windows or not) playing Xbox games
Well maybe not now, but eventually I see these things converging. Apple will eventually be a challenger to cable too.
If Zynga can't successfully target mobile and other platforms, I could see a day where EA passes them. Zynga is tied to Facebook but has little success elsewhere.
I think it'll be a cool console but I don't see it selling as well among the mainstream Wii owners out there now.
Yeah I think Divnich makes a very good point. A lot of companies would pretend to apologize about it but not do much more.
Interesting. Although even if Aonuma was pissed at Miyamoto about something, it's not like the guy would ever say bad things in an interview.
I actually think there will be some really cool applications to make use of that tablet controller.
Yes, he said current consoles, but that's still quite an achievement. Think about it: something more powerful than PS3 in your pocket! AND, at the rate the tech improves on the mobile side, it could potentially surpass the next-gen at some point too.
I don't think Sony would want to spend that kind of money. MS on the other hand has the cash, but I think you're right - both MS and Sony will probably go after cloud gaming with their own tech.
I wonder where he gets that statistic from. I mean, social/PC and phones/tablets are becoming huge, but I'm not sure. As for the Wii U, I disagree with him. I think Nintendo is absolutely NOT launching a a "perfect time."
