Eventually the industry will head in this direction, as tablets and smartphones get more and more powerful and can then also be hooked up to a TV and a controller, all wirelessly to give you the big screen console experience also.
Lots of very interesting photos in that piece. Too bad Rare makes nothing but casual Kinect games nowadays.
We all knew this, but at least some researchers are finally making sense.
I have an iPad and I do like gaming on it when I need to pass some time, but I still much much prefer big experiences on console. I think eventually these things will start to merge though.
Really, someone actually just disagreed with me because I said I want to play the game? Oh N4G, lol.
Cool, can't wait to play the game!
Interesting piece. Kinect sort of saved Microsoft's butt, as that Rare investment wasn't looking too justified for many years.
I also think nearly 50% of the total console market over the last year is pretty damn good.
I don't think we're going to see PS4 for at least 3 years or more. Sony can't afford the huge investment in another high tech console yet.
We'll see how it goes, but yeah it obviously makes it better for shooters.
That's rather impressive. I streamed the XP keynote so I contributed to that total.
I've seen demos of Uncharted 3 in 3D - definitely looks good to me!
I'm hoping the 3D quality gets better soon. A lot of the games don't look so hot in 3D I think.
If they go about it in the right way it might, just might, turn out to be smart. They need to have very high adoption, perhaps by designing a new Mario title that takes advantage of the dual analog and packing in the analog cradle.
Yeah it really does make Nintendo look foolish.
I used to really like the House of the Dead games. It's sort of mindless fun. I'm interested in seeing how well the motion controls work on this.
3D gaming is pretty fun when it's done right, but it gives me a headache if it's not properly implemented.
Very interesting data. Perhaps the holiday season will change that a bit, lots of good games coming.
Some of those stories about the beginnings of Madden are pretty nuts. Good stuff.
Depends on what metric you're using I guess. Certainly right now, there appear to be more people crazed about Call of Duty.
