They are trying to do this with PS3 too. I think gamers need to rise up and sue them for this stuff. I think it is a bait & switch to buy a game, and then someone tweaks it later to have advertisements added in it. These companies are treating their customers like crap. They don't see us as people buying their products, only as dollar signs.
Yeah, and it totally pisses me off when I buy a really buggy game, and that is not mentioned in the reviews.
For someone who is a real racing buff like Yamauchi, I could see them not wanting users to create their own tracks. Things could get wacky. If you are programming realistic physics into cars, then you also need to ensure the race tracks they drive on are well designed. At least if you are going for simulator over arcade style in a game.
awesome. I need one so I can look like uber-geek when I am playing video games.
Funny how this game is hyped up so much that people assume everyone is interested. I am not buying this game, and it has nothing to do with boycotting. I am just flat out uninterested in another war shooter. I have played a ton of those over the years already. I will just play one of my older games if I ever get in the mood for that again.
It is just a case of reality check. The game business had been in their economic bubble for while, but as the economy has reacted to all these bubbles, they are now deflating. For a while they felt insulated from what is happening to the world economy, but that was unrealistic. It was only a matter of time before entertainment oriented businesses will also feel the results of fewer dollars people have in their budgets to spend.
I played InFamous twice, and am keeping the disc in my collection. I played 80% of Prototype, then traded it in because I just got sick of it before completing.
Two words for what these losers have coming to them...
prison sentence
I think Sony is heading in the right way with focus on great exclusives over the "community" aspects. Games get people to buy hardware. When enough people buy the games & hardware, the community forms. Even if it is not as big as another game communitity, it is big enough to where it doesn't matter to the players.
I think Valve are stroking themselves too much...but on the other hand, ranting articles like this sound juvenile, and therefore don't have any credibility imo. You can make a stronger point by just sticking with facts, and cut out all the whining.
BOOBS! Woohoo!
But why is that "bothering you", when all articles that talk about game play say that is not what the game is going to be like? With as much aversion the developer has to being labelled nothing more than a QTE game, do you think it's likely that they would really release a game that is like that?
No fanboy here, but your comment sounds dumb. If they weren't selling video games on PS3, companies like Naughty Dog, Sucker Punch, Insomniac, etc, would be looking for a new gig instead of making sequels to their exclusives.
There is more to it with Valve. They have their Steam business. They can do without the PS3 & make a good income. Just because they are not interested in doing PS3 games, does not mean it is due to their not being any profit in there. They would make a...
A symptom of blogosphere mentality. People talk sh*t about things they know nothing about on forums. Other clueless people read it & take it as gospel. Then they regurgitate the same misinformation on other posts.
This is a lame argument when people try to use "the big companies screw us" as a reason for stealing. So you don't like gas prices, you have the right to steal from the local gas station. You don't like that the grocer raised the price of milk - ok to steal it now. Taxes went up. OK, now that justifies cheating the government & rest of the taxpayers.
If you are a thief, don't makeup lame justifications for illegal activity. It is just ignorant sounding.
I like Valve games. I like my PS3. But they are not "all that" imo, so whatever if they never make a game for PS3. Out of sight, out of mind, as they say. They are becoming a forgotten company to me. They are not only old school, but old fashion. It's always amusing when you hear people talk arrogantly, when they are the ones getting left in the dust by more modern thinkers.
Doesn't the name tell it all? Halo "Reach".
j/k though. I am of the opinion that fans of FPS games are not necessarily looking for a unique totally different thing on each game. They want quaility, great game play, an interesting story, and the same general comfort zone that they are used to with that type of game. A recent game I bought was Wolfenstien, and I saw criticism that it was not innovative, and was too similar to older FPS games. That is exactly why I liked...
I think a lot of people that like video games are real putzes when I read these forums sometimes. Not those that want some justice because they had a bad product experience. But those that take the side of the corporations instead of the game players that had their machines brick on them through no fault of thier own.
Some real piss poor attitudes, and totally on the wrong side of the "ethics fence".
yup, the classic PS controller layout works great for these kinds of games.
lol, and pirates try to claim they dont hurt anyone, because the big companies deserve to get ripped off. Well, they pretty much hurt all owners that want to sell their used gear, because you can't trust this stuff will work online. Resale value = worthless at this point.
