We all knew this was going to happen. Why put everything you created for the game on disc when you can milk customers for an extra 30 to 40 bucks with expansion packs that are already built & ready to sell via download?
I think DLC can be a great way to refresh a game that has been out for a while, and in those cases worth buying. But unfortunately it is just becoming a scam to get more than 60 bucks for new games.
I liked this game, and thought it was very underrated. I totally got into the squad based tactics of this game.
menoyou - anyone of reasonable intelligence knows that you need to at least try something before being harshly critical of it. Be mindful of your own ignorance when you accuse others of being a less intelligent crowd.
There is a strong correlation between arrogance & incompetence, just as there is a link between humility & intelligence.
Checked it out, wandered around. I have zero interest to log on to it again. I'd rather just play games on the box, and launch them the old fashion way...insert disc, start playing.
Interesting to hear they struggled for while, when the final product turned out great. This game is one of the top next gen games I've played, IMHO.
congrats Gordon. You are one bad mofo.
Sounds like junior high school.
Once again class, "overhyped" means a game gets a lot of talk or press, but then flops. If most people love the game, and it is mostly getting 9 out of 10 reviews, it is not overhyped. It is just being praised for being really good.
No matter to me...I just picked up Uncharted 2, Batman Arkham Asylum, & Brutal Legend at Toy's R Us. Pretty good score, considering they don't have as much selection as best Buy.
There is a big difference betwen the what goal a good movie versus good video game is trying to accomplish. One does not replace the other, and if they tried to, it would not be a very good product.
The goal of a movie is to tell a story in a visualy compelling way, while staying efficient in the story telling & not stretching it out longer than it needs to be. This maximizes the dramatic effect, while avoiding losing your audience's interest. It is a very condensed, but power...
It's a beautiful video. Women are beautiful. What's not to like?
He deserved to be set on fire? Some of you need to put the controller down and get a dose of reality.
It's a terrible crime, but I think sensationalist reporting to add "video game" in the headlines. The crime was committed because the kid owed a thug 43 dollars & couldn't pay him. Whether that was for a video game or not is immaterial.
lol, good luck on trying to convince anyone that guys don't pay attention to this kind of stuff.
Since there are so many Blu ray players out there, the genie is out of the bottle so to speak. I don't think published media, such as games or movies are going to move up to the larger capacity discs. It would be a real disaster to try to get people to upgrade hardware again. I'm sure future players will be able to handle all discs, but I seriously doubt the standards that publishers use is going to change.
As a game player, I am amused by these kinds of articles that talk about the "war" between Sony & Microsoft.
I don't know about any wars going on. All I know is that I just went on a buying spree & picked up Brutal Legend, Fallout 3 GOTY edition, Uncharted 1 & 2, Batman Arkham Asylum, Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2, and will buy Borderlands next week for my PS3.
I am stocked up on great games, and stoked!
A movie based upon a game. My prediction...it is going to suck. Like all movies based on games do.
I love this game so far after playing it for a few hours. It is one of the better games I've played in a while. It probably helps that I grew up listening to all the classic metal songs they use in this game.
Fallout 3 ending was not only very disapointing, but also totally illogical. Hello Fawkes, radiation proof mutant friend...can't you oblige us by going into the radiated room & push a button so us humans don't have to sacrafice our lives? What, no dialog choice for that? You are just going to stand there? Greeeat.
Farcry 2 also had a real stupid martyr ending. That game was a whole lot of grinding to make it to the end, then has a totally stupid ending to where you can not...
I picked up both at Toys R Us 3 for price of 2 sale...plus Batman Arkham Asylum. ;-)
Haven't started Uncharted 2 yet, but Brutal Lgend is a very cool, funny game so far.
