Yes, really. As in absolutely I will not buy new products where the packaging is opened by people at the store. Especially if that store also sells the exact same products used. It really makes the store look more like a pawn shop than a new merchandise retailer. Now if you have an open case display discount, that is another story. But the store near me still wants $59.99 for open package games.
So remind me again why I should buy new games that have the packaging open from a ...
Be careful with that karma thing. You are dishing out some bad karma here with those kinds of comments. I hope whatever happens to you isn't too painful, and people don't 'LOL' about it. That would really suck for you.
I agree. It is annoying when you bought a PS3 a a few years ago and liked the clean layout, only to see it get more cluttered with useless stuff you never use via firmware updates. I don't mind getting new features that I will never use, but it is seriosuly irritating when those add ons are totally in your face on the XMB without any user layout configuration options.
It really doesn't matter to me what your explanation is. If it is opened, then it is no sale without a discount. Where I live, Best Buy is in the same shopping center where Game Stop is. They don't do this with new games, so I buy from them instead of you guys.
If someone is innocent & banned, I would think they might want to switch brands.
But if someone is modding their box to play pirated software, then they certainly are not going to buy a PS3. Crooks don't spend money on consoles that can't play software they steal.
I think some people need a break from thinking about this stuff instead of writing this kind of wierd crap about games.
Funny that Gamestop is a big corporate player, but the stores I have been to look like a cluttered mess & low rent inside.
I don't buy new games from the local Gamestop store for one reason - new games are already opened. They have empty cases on the shelf, then get the disc from somewhere behind the counter. This is probably after everyone in their ghetto store has passed it around & played it at home before selling it "new" to customers. New my ass. It is a...
I could care less. I won't use it.
And with the PS3, I don't know why it is "news" when they talk about this stuff for that device. I guess it is because Microsoft made into a big deal when they integrated it into the 360. But the PS3 has a browser. You could already do all that web stuff since day one with that box.
I think there some truth to what Divnich is saying. The early commercials looked like an art school project, and did not tell me anything about the product. Even though I had a PS1 & PS2, I did not buy a PS3 until about a year after launch after playing with one at a friends house. For me it wasn't cost holding me back. It was lack of interest because I knew nothing about the new Playstation. Perhaps if they showed me what it can do on the commercials, I would have bought one a lot sooner...
haha, funny stuff. I'm an older gamer and don't play with the little kiddies online.
There is that old saying "you don't know what you are missing". Oh, I know what I am missing, and I am glad that I am missing it. ;-)
I'm not a MMO player, so what would you do with this thing? Would there be quests that can be completed together with other players, or do you just wander around fighting & collecting stuff? What would be the driver to make me want to play this after spending a ton of hours completing Fallout 3 & all the DLC?
This guy is talking about artistry. That kind of thing goes out the window on products designed to appeal to the widest audience as possible for maximum profit. The #1 goal for Activision is to sell a lot of product, which they have achieved in this case.
I don't know why people see the modders & hackers as some kind of Robin Hood characters, because they aren't. They certainly aren't doing it for the altruistic reasons they claim as some kind of justice against corporate tyranny. That is a lame boldface lie that only an idiot would believe. People steal software because they are crooks.
You are right that every honest customer is affected in the long run by piracy. The cheaters try to cozy up to the game communitity, actin...
lol, a war game with intentions to not offend anyone. Yes, death & destruction sanitized to make as much money as possible.
I have seen a few of the Wii fit functions at my sisters house. It mainly looks like anaerobic activity, such as balancing & weight transfer as opposed to aerobic. For it to be real excercise they need the Wii treadmill or stepmaster attachment, lol. Or you could save yourself a bunch of money, and just go jogging, bike riding, hiking, or other non staring at your TV excercise activities.
This is a good unique game in a sea of sameness in the game world. Game play is a bit uneven, but the sum of all the parts makes it pretty entertaining & enjoyble. The humor, voice acting, story, music, is very cool.
cool stuff
Game makers created the casual game sales bubble of late, and can't blame consumers now that the bubble is deflating. This is typcal of a lot of industries that have been hurt in the down economy - they go with the fad, focus all their energies in getting fast sales, then struggle by not already having a business contingency plan in place when the bubble deflates.
nice
Trade in credit is pretty minimal at Game Stop. I no longer go that route. I would rather give an old game away to a friend than only get a few bucks back for it from a chain store.
