Interesting comment on the Karachi detail. As you said, that in itself is not a big deal. But my philosophy in any professional endeavor is that it is the paintstaking, meticulous attention to detail that seperates the best from the rest.

bah with digital only. It is a win for distributers, but not consumers, even though they try to make it seem cool. Some issues I see with download only software:

* Not everyone has good Internet bandwidth, & some have rate caps that mean you pay more if downloading too much.
* Discs are portable media. I can take it with me to play on someone else's box that doesn't own the game.
* Discs can be bought from a brick & morter stores, and returned to them (de...

As PT Barnum once said...

"There is a sucker born every minute."

Another old cliche comes to mind...

"A fool and his money are easily parted"

Sexy? Uhh, no

But pretty damn funny, I'd say.

People these days are caught up in commercialism. They judge things based upon whether they are "blockbusters" or not. It is rather superficial on how people have become when they talk about video games.

I remember back when people just talked about games either being good or bad, without breaking out sales charts so they can say "aha, I told you that game I never played before was no good. I told you that other console that I never used before doesn't have good ...

I see advertisement up the wazoo for Modern Warfare 2. I don't recall seeing much advertising for Uncharted 2. That's probably not the whole story but part of it.

Among PS3 players, I think a lot didn't buy it if they didn't play the first one. Even though people know it is criticaly acclaimed, just reading all the hype doesn;t give you a sense of what kind of gameplay is in this game. It is easy to know what you are going to get if you put your money down on a typical FPS, rac...

Real friends would throw their games out the window before their friendship. If you lose a "friend" over video game squabbles, you are just losing the illusion of a fake friendship, not a real friend.

I don't play online hardly ever, so I wouldn't pay monthly fees for PSN so I could download games or a movie that I want to purchase. That would be like paying a cover charge to be able to shop at a store, which of course makes no business sense.

So true. When I played Jedi Outcast on PC, I enabled cheats so the lightsaber dismembered enemies. It made the difference between the game being cool instead of lame.

As far as unleashed 2, I wouldn't buy it unless they fixed the sloppy, janky controls. Both combat & platforming was a mess in that game because of the controller slop.

I think it sucked. Controls were sloppy & impercise. When I came accross platforming levels with those janky controls...I kicked that game to the curb & moved on to other games.

After all the problems I had with the PS3 version of Fallout 3, the only way I'd buy another Fallout game is if Bethseda was NOT involved with it.

More silly stuff from the Interwebs

I'm thinking neither PS3 or 360 owners feel "disappointed" with their favorite toy.

Flower is the opposite of every game I like...games that are intense, fast paced, action packed, & challenging.

And I love Flower for being that opposite game. It is a beautiful, soothing, pleasurable thing to play. Totally relaxing & hypnotic.

Wii went after the kids, family, and casual market and made a killing over there. There is no joke about making sales, so Wii is no joke. But they are locked in to that market segment. It is their niche, and it is too late for them to join the MA rating game market. People that play those kinds of games already have a 360 or PS3.

Yes, as people noted a game for the blind wouldn't be a "video" game. But I see no technical reason why music based games could not be adapted for blind people to have a way to play them. It would have to be a different idea than watching colored dots on a screen, but I'm sure something cool could be done.

Also want to add my congrats to Naughty Dog. They did a great job. Award well deserved.

lol, this is old news. Everyone knows by now that PS3 moved away from backwards compatability, and it really doesn't matter to most of us that bought one.

I care about as much as playing ancient games on it as I do playing VHS movie tapes on it.

I hear ya. I bought a bunch of games at the time MW2 came out. I wasn't much imoressed by the previous game, probably because I got tired of FPS shooters in general over the years. I don't know if I am typical or not of a PS3 customer, but I am in the older gamer crowd, but still play games a lot. But the games that appeal to me most are games like the Uncharted series, & InFamous for exclusives. For mutliplatform, I bought Fallout 3 GOTY & Borderlands...those two games alone filled u...

lol, maybe some people should take a look at what (ahem) current standards are out there, and which ones are at their 15 year technology end of life cycle (DVD).

These confounded kids these days, and their new-fangled blu ray players. Back in my day we had to walk 15 miles through the snow uphill, and we liked it! We wacthed DVD when we got home, and that was the way it was!!!

Joking aside...just did a quick check on what kind of hardware is out there to educate ...

This list is basically Wii games & FPS shooters. All easily digestable by the masses. And there are a lot of Xboxes & Wii consoles out there.

So yeah, Uncharted is not going to sell as well. Games like the Uncharted games are easy to ignore, until you actually play it for yourself...and then think, "wow, how come I didn't play this amazing game earlier?"
