You know what's an even more poor experience than the PS3 browser?
Having to get up & go to my computer upstairs to quickly look up something online, when I am already sitting down in front of my TV downstairs with the PS3...which is capable of doing the same thing.
Saints Row 2 was fun. Had a lot of janky issues with car physics & glitchy things that would annoy me at times, but fun.
One thing for sure, I saw "whatever" to any game makers overhyping their next game on the Net. Of course they all say that, even if the game ends up really being "meh".
I don't know what this dude is trippin' about. How much money does video game industry bring in? How big are these corporate producers of game software & hardware?
Video games are clearly already as socially acceptable as any other mainstream entertainment business. People also complain about the bad influence of movies, TV, and music, just like games, so whatever. Quit whining about being accepted by every critic. There will always be critics.
The amount of people that use a Linux partition, and care about this isn't even a blip on the radar in total PS3 users. And I would bet a good majority of those complaining about it in forums & blogs have never used the feature, but are just mad at the concept of something being removed.
So will it hurt the Sony PS3? Only for a very small fraction of users that a big company like Sony will say "oh well" to if they complain.
It doesn't matter to me...but if I did use the other OS feature, I would just not update my old PS3 & use it for that Linux stuff, and get a slim for online gaming stuff. Simple.
What he says is a no-brainer. We use a system of input controls to drive a vehicle...steering wheel, gas pedal, brake pedal, clutch, gear shifter. It is the mastery of these things that go into auto racing. Auto racing is one type of game where body motion is totally alien to the actual racing experience.
Both Xbox & PS game players should be glad there is competition, and Sony didn't sell it's gaming division to Microsoft.
Competetion is the reason why games & game system features continually improve. Nintento, Microsoft, & Sony all push each other to get better & win the game player sales. It is a win for consumers.
Ah another statistical analysis of sales figures to try to tell us what games are good or not.
I usually play them to know if they are good, and this one was very good IMO. But hey, that's just the old school kind of gamer I am. ;-)
who freaking cares?
I don't get the idea of using the standard Xbox controller in conjunction with Natal to have button control. Sounds contradictory what Natal is supposed to be about, and clumsy as hell. I predict that games that need button input are just not going to work good with Natal, unless they come out with a different controller to go along with them.
Too expensive
The prefect way to convince people these games don't warp young people's minds. Or maybe not so much, haha. ;-)
Good thing we don't carry them around in one arm while playing. I don't know about the rest of you, but mine sits stationary next to the TV when I play games...so the weight is totally irrelevent to me. ;-)
AstroZombie1...
No point is asking why there are mindless trolls on the Internet. This is their refuge, because nobody wants to put up with their idiocy in the real world.
Why do people even think about these things? Do gamers really care about which way a large coporation is headed, and what course they chart in business?
Silly stereotypes folks. You all read too much overhyped sensationalist web stories.
I think it is only fair that Sony pay people that want to sue the full monetary value of their lost trophies... $0.00
;-)
What is wrong with Activision is they operate as being a trading commodity as their primary focus, but in an industry where creative talent is really the engine that drives success. They seem to be on the verge (if not already over) of losing sight on that creative side of the business that is so very necessary in an entertainment oriented business. They seem to represent the opposite of originality in games these days.
Already have a PS3, and probably NOT going to buy that game. Played the demo, and it is cool for what it is. But I can only deal with hack & slash for a short time before I get bored with 'em.
I think a lot of game players have lost sight about what is cool about the hobby when they start going tit for tat about sales figures all the time. Are we all supposed to like the same games? Do you guys rate music & movies the same way..."oh that movie sucked, because it opened #3 in the box office?"
Peple saying it is "sad" that this unsusual game "only" sold one million copies so far? LOL, I don't think anyone is crying about this apparant ...
