Lots of good comments here. All these Sergio Leone classics need to be seen...

I liked R2. Not as much as the first, but yeah I liked it.
I also felt R2 was inferior to R1. I don't undertsand why they went away from the multiple weapon wheel to only carrying four weapons. It felt gimped after playing the 1st one.
I felt the first one's mission progression was more interesting, making me want to keep playing to see what happens next. Whereas the second one fell into the formula of "lets top the first one by flooding the screen with more enemies to shoot".

Q: Five reasons you bought a PS3?
A: Duh, I never bought one, and don't know anything about it. Der, XBOX rules.
LOL
Businesses know that lack of supply of hardware does not stimulate demand. At least when it is not a new product anynore. By this time, anyone pondering buying a PS3 is probably fickle, or on the fence. They are missing out on all the impulse buying customers by not having the product on the shelf.
For example, in my case I was trying to buy a 2nd unit for my bedroom TV. But since that day I felt that impulse & couldn't find any, I had more time to think about it, ...
I bought mine when it was expensive, when they didn't have a big game library. Reasons:
* Have been a Playstation 1 & 2 owner, and familiar with the controller
* Liked that it had Blu Ray instead of DVD disc
* Was interested in the cell processor, and what that was going to mean to future games developed for this system (even though the selection was small at 1st)
* built in Wifi, and no extra charges for PSN online
* Design conc...
PS3 & 360 are well entrenched into the gaming world. Seems like they are too late to the party to start a revolution in how people buy & play games. What reason would I have to ditch the current platform I have, where I have already spent a few grand on games & movies over the last three years?
arrogant people think others with a different opinion are sheep.
Who is to decide if someone else's review score is "justified"? If people have a different opinion, then they should write their own review. It makes no sense to review a review.
Ahh, the old multiplat dilema. People with only one system are going to buy the game for their system....so no point in obsessing when a mutliplat looks better on another system. Just enjoy the game if it is cool, and don't trip on the differences.
I am not a professional analyist, and knew all along this game would be popular. Maybe we should not listen to people that don't actually play the games themselves. Players know better.
I don't know why people think there is some kind of conspiracy about stories saying there are shortages. My old spare PS3 died a few weeks ago, and I decided to buy a new one to replace it...after not finding any in four local stores that sell game hardware I gave up. Amazon had them backordered too.
The problem with making a game with realistic physics is you don't get a sense of speed heading into a corner like a real car. That is the main difference between driving a real high performance car versus a visual simulation. Put too much throttle in a 3,000 lb car with 638 horsepower through a turn, and you will be in the wall or in the grass.
Lots of stupid people write articles about games these days. A game that sold 9 million copies did not result in a 54 million dollar loss. Also, several million people that bought it think it is better than "mediocre".
There was an article I read a while back on a study that showed video games do not improve cognitive skills in any detectable way. I would like to give more details on that, but I don't remember very much of it. ;-)
I hope this is an issue they really did solve for the game. If you try to scale down realistic physics to TV size, the end result looks slower than real life. That has always been a problem with GT games.
One thing people don't always consider is not all people are physically able to play at the same level of difficulty. It is unfair to assume everyone is able to get through a game at the same difficulty level. Some people just can't, so why not make it adjustable so they can enjoy their 60 dollarr purchase?
PS3 players have left Valve behind, so no need to even have much opinion on Valve's opinion. We are quite happy with developers like Naughty Dog, Insomniac, Sucker Punch, and other great PS3 game makers.
Totally. I went to a Best Buy near me after work and they had a whole shelf full of this game for both PS3 & 360.
These guys are trippin'. Make a great game, and people will buy it, regardless what the main character looks like. We don't buy games based upon a picture of the character.
