Far Cry 2 truely great?
Nah, it was truely annoying.
LOL, FPS gamers = wannabe murderers
IMO it no longer makes sense to sell any new products with DVD drives instead of Blu Ray. Unless you like antique technology. ;-)
Preorder is just silly anyway imo. They make more copies of these games than they will sell. Preordering is just giving a free loan to game companies.
If you've read at least one of these fanboy debates, you will know exactly how all the rest go without wasting time to read them. My "contribution" to flamebait discussion is to remind people there are still some gamers out there that are above this juvenile kiddy stuff, and appreciate all good games & technology.
As for the GTA4 comments...I think GTA4 had a lot more negative opinions from fans than other highly reviewed games, because a lot of fans had preconcieved notions of what the game should be. I have not been a follower of GTA games, and thought GTA4 did live up to it's reviews. I think that is because I had no expectations of what the game should have been like, and really enjoyed it for what it brought to the current generation of consoles in 2008 when it came out.
Didn't waste my time reading the article or the posts on these fanboy flame topics. Just wanted to say, these little kiddy arguments don't hurt old school gamers. Because we could care less about whats going on in romper room. You all are arguing about electronic appliances. A device that reads a disc. Haha, that's pretty darn funny. ;-)
The article is wrong on install size
lol, I think if anyone is worried about spoilers, they shouldn't read an article & posts about "game endings"
What's wrong with the game scene these days is too much publicity given to talking heads like Patcher. Those that know how to do things, do things. Those that don't, talk about those that do. This is another do nothing person who has become famous for being famous. Why give him more than the 15 minutes of fame other hot airbags get?
I'm not surprised sales are down...I went to three stores last week trying to bu a new PS3, and could not find any. I looked on Amazon, and they were backordered there too. It is hard to increase sales when you have nothing to sell.
lol, yep console sales in general are down. As far as PS3 sales drop, it is pretty hard to sell things that don't exist...you can't even find a PS3 in most stores, because they didn't make enough.
Games made for PS3 architecture run great on PS3. The challenge with PS3 is convincing develpers to code specifically for that platform, when the real money is delivering a multiplatform game.
I agree that the FO3 ending sucked, mainly because an open world game that has tons of stuff to do outside of the main quest should not have an ending that kills off the player character. I didn't see it coming, and was pissed that the game could not continue after that mission.
Honerable mention Far Cry 2...the story was pretty weak, and made no sense why your character agrees with his protaganist to go on a suicide pact mission at the end. WTF?
It really doesn't sound like much extra to sway someone to buy a different console. It sounds like one of those extra goodies that doesn't really make much difference in the game.
The winner in this is Rockstar. Extra money from Microsoft to go multiplat, and end up with the biggest selling game in history at that time. Score!
Both sides are extreme. Games can be fun entertainment, if done in moderation with a normal lifestyle. On the other hand, they don't make you smarter, or better at any real life skills.
LOL, fanboys are funny with how they spin everything about these little plastic boxes as some kind of competition. I didn't know there were awards for "winners" of E3.
Taking down a website is burning the thousands of people that use it. People should be punished for that crime. The kid was lucky the judge was nice enough to give him probation, and not send him to jail.
Don't really care about Sony's market share. I'm just really not into running 15 year old DVD technology with my two year old HDTV. Glad they were willing to take some chances in order to bring us a better product.
