I don't get this article...if the firmware update is optional, how is that "nuking" the use of older machines only used for supercomputing & not online gaming?
DLC had a lot of promise at first, like when games like Burnout Paradies was providing free extra content to keep the game fresh.
Now it has become an obvious scam, and I just avoid it entirely. I don't buy any of the over priced garbage, and furthermore I don't buy retail games when I see extra cost DLC coming out right after release. If the publisher is holding out, and not putting all the finished product in the disc, then I am not buying.
I know that's do-able, but I aint putting a PC in my living room.
LOL, yeah sitting on for butt while PC gaming gives people plenty of excercise & ambition in life compared to sitting on your butt playing through a console.
The main reason I no longer play games in front of my PC is that my big plasma HDTV & surround sound system connected to my PS3 in front of my comfy couch kicks azz.
What is going on here is someone's account information was compromised. That may have been the users fault in a scam.
I also highly doubt there was a hack into the PSN database to steal information. This would be a big deal, requiring notifications of all users their information was compromised with an advisement to check their credit card statements for fraud.
This kind of obessiveness to the point of being near mental disorder doesn't work well in the business world. At some point people investing in a project need to see product on the shelf generating sales.
lol, "sexy" just doesn't come to mind when I play video games. It is laughable to me when games try to have "sexy" moments.
This debate about art seems to be missing the point IMO. They are called video GAMES, not video art. If people don't understand why GAMES are fun, then oh well, it is their loss. It just so happens that a lot of makers of these games have an ideal of excercising artistic creativty into their design. If one can't recognized that, it is probably because they are closing themselves off to getting the first concept...the fun aspect of playing games.
Funny thing is that movies are getting worse because they are trying to be more like video games.
In 1997, IBM's Deep Blue computer beat world champion Garry Kasparov in a six match contest.
As far as just shooting combat goes, there is a physical input limitation with a human player. Once a good intellegence strategy is programmed for a NPC, they would actually have to limit the programs capability to not kick the humans ass in an unfair manner...due to us humans having to use fingers & thumbs to control our avatar.
Games that have violence just for kicks are also sick minded imo. There is a difference between fighting for your (virtual) life in a game versus just going around killing for no reason. I have played a lot of violent games, but the context has always been survival from an enemy, not murder for thrill.
And rape is violence btw. Guys that find it erotic need some counseling before they should be trusted around real women.
I think it is a lot of nonsense always trying to categorize "hardcore" & "casual" games.
There are two kinds of games though...good games & bad games.
I also agree. I really hope they fix the engine to run on PS3 without all those damn freezes.
Looking the same as Fallout 3 = full of win!
I don't know what conclusion can be drawn other than the top ten games for either system both have really great reviews.
Let's get on with it Lucas Film. I have an empty spot in my Blue Ray collection still waiting to fill with these movies.
What a dumbass. If you are in the business, you shouldn't tweet comments that piss off consumers. Keep it to yourself, because evryone reading the tweet is thinking F U.
It sure is a boring way to play a video game imo.
