On the "winning" E3 concept...fanboys think their favorite brand wins. These E3 presentations are just preaching to the choirs.
This challenge wasn;t too hard. The hardest challenge I thought so far was master hunter level 8: Kill a bear with your melee knife. I got killed by many bears attempting that one.
I don't get offended when I hear a lot of that...but it is not "realistic" as they are trying to make the game when they overuse cursing. To my adult ears, it sounds like young people trying to pretend to be adults. For most people, excessive cursing is something left behind as we grow from adolescents to mature adults.
replace iphone with PS3, and you have a better list. Not speaking as a fanboy here. I think all three current gen consoles 360, PS3, & Wii should get more credit than iphone.
I just hope games will be made without sacrafice to quality in 2D if they all start coming out in 3d. I have no interest in wearing 3d glasses for long periods of time while gaming.
Back in the good old days, different weapons, armor, or character "skins", were unlocked for completing things in the game. Now they try to sell this stuff for a few dollars each as "extra content". I could care less about spending real money on virtual crap that does not expand the amount of play time with the game. Two bucks to change the charachter's clothing? Yeah riiight.
After trying the demo, I predict many hours of addiction to this game for a lot of people!
I get what he's saying. Someone has to be the foreman, and get workers back on task when they start going off on tangents that don't align to the project goal. You can't be everyone's buddy all the time if you are the boss.
What people don't understand is this is a very old scene from early film. The dastardly villian ties the damsel in distress to the train tracks. Rockstar didn't invent this. Even the achievement name references the famous movie scene.
Yup. Fanboys turn these topics into butthurt arguments, because many of them don't know jack about technology. The limitation of commercial game software on consoles is the need to get a product delivered in a reasonable amount of time. Until it is on the store shelf, it is only red ink to a company while in development. If one could spend eight years developing their software, it will utilize the hardware more efficiently (and get more out of it) than a project that spent two years in de...
You can easily max out hardware with bad programming. But just because a developer maxes out hardware today with a game, does not mean another developer can;t get even more out of the PS3 hardware a year later with better programming.
I think some "scholarly" people say ludicrous these things like this to get attention.
I sold my original Fallout 3 for ten bucks, and bought GOTY for retail price just to have it all on one disc. It ended up being the same cost as downloading all the DLC & keeping my original disc.
I have had to re-download all my stuff after my first PS3 broke. I will always prefer disc over download because of how much a pain it is to redownload everything.
As a long time gamer & Half Life fan that plays on a PS3...
I could care less about Valve these days, and get amused when this topic gets elevated into some kind of controversy. I can't speak for all PS3 players, but IMO other developers have given us enough great games on the PS3, and Valve is just remembered as "that old fashion game company from the past."
As someone from Italian descent, I am equally offended by the italian stereotypes in GTA4. ok, NOT. ;-)
Please people get over yourselves, and quit taking everything so personally. Some people go about their day looking for things to be offended by.
All I got to say is Lazlow is pretty damn funny on GTA4. ;-)
Nike - Final Cut Pro on a current MAC would be using an Intel X86 chipset with ATI or nVidea GPU. raztad's point is correct. A "PC" is pretty standardized hardware these days whether it is a generic looking Windows machine or Mac with a shiny white plastic case.
As an old gamer, I agree this is a parenting issue. There are kids games, and there are games for us adults. It is a parents job to know the difference, just like filtering out adult TV shows or movies from their kids to see.
It is in Sony's best interest to ensure good quality games are developed specifically for the PS3 architecture, whether they are exclusive or not. A lot of bad ported multiplats will make their system look crappy, instead of allow it to shine like some of the current exclusives do.
Yeah, I eventually beat that one using this approach. Lots of times I was interrupted though...one time when I had the bear on the ropes, some NPC rides up out of nowhere, chases it, then guns it down in front of me. I was just sitting there stunned the game took my kill away, LOL.
