Codes don't go live until the game goes live.
The only game I've played to date that has a "Jason" button.. I must've pressed it 50 times. Pretty solid game indeed.
Patch is 530mb.. saved you a click.
Hell I liked the generic black background and the word DOOM more than this. It looks like literally every other shooter title.. uncharted, bioshock infinite, halo, etc.
Yeah not entirely sure why people are so obsessed with THEIR favorite game being on a 'best of' list. Everything is subjective.. all that matters is that a game is YOUR favorite game.
It would seem Bungie is the one trying to kill the game. Their post-launch strategy has been an inconsistent mess.. you have excellent DLC with Taken King, good DLC with Dark below, mediocre DLC with House of Wolves, and their big follow-up is 1-3 week 'events'. Tell me how a Sparrow racing league or a valentines day themed 2v2 crucible playlist even compares to any of those DLC's in the aspect of keeping players interested/engaged. All these events do is enable Bungie to relea...
It was also one of the biggest complaints about the game from the masses. Add in about a half-dozen Titan variants, few more weapons and some weapon customization (attachments, camo) and boom they should be in business. I was a big fan of the original myself.. solid mechanics and gameplay.
Well only FFX impressed me more than 7.
XB1 had Ryse: Son of Rome.. PS4 needed The Order: 1886 to fill that 'holy **** this looks amazing but isn't particularly fun" void.
The Order did create (at least in my opinion) an interesting world/setting. But is it worth trying to make a sequel and fix some of the flaws, or shelving it and creating a less ambitious/more commercially lucrative game instead?
Hope it doesn't roll out at GD midnight again.. swear to god if I get kicked from my game to download a patch again i'm going to opt out of the preview program.
Yep, my bank account says it's overpriced. That and I need to upgrade my video card... so i'll just go ahead and wait.
It is essentially a bleeding-edge accessory with minimal software/games to justify buying it. Over time it'll get less expensive to produce (often resulting in a price drop), and more companies will have developed software to support it. Right now it's a tough sell. GTX970 is still $350'ish.. and that's probably a minimum recommended.
The fact the XB1 did as well as it did is surprising to me, considering their initial price and the force-ably included Kinect. It's not much of a competition now with the PS4's nearly (if not literally) 2-to-1 sales figures.. but I wouldn't say that Microsoft lost either. It's not Highlander, there can be multiple consoles.
And 4 years from now when they are ready to ship a product, both Sony and MS will be ready to ship a new console.
Agreed.. it's not a ripoff, but it's essentially gaming bleeding-edge technology. People are paying a premium for 1st generation hardware that has very minimal software support. I'll take the money I considered spending on Oculus and get a beefy video card for now.
Sort of a reply to both dboy and snoty: It's going to be one of those games that is as good/bad as you want it to be. I imagine there'll be some story to it.. clearly you're working towards the center of the galaxy for some reason or another.
I'm still concerned about how interesting it'll be after a week or two.. once the initial excitement/interest wears off, what draw will it have to keep us coming back?
No, there's mods available on Nexus mods already.
Reminds me a lot of Ryse: Son of Rome in that it's a graphically impressive game with little to show for it. Like buying a Ferrari chassis with no motor.. sure it looks great, but that's all it can do.
Would've helped with some of the sticker shock for sure. But the controller seems to be selling out anyways, so it's just extra money.
It's also worth it for new players who got TTK: Legendary edition .. the only people who've been burned are the ones who bought vanilla destiny for $60, year 1 DLC for $40, and TTK for $40.
