Level 20 IS the cap. The fact they treat high-end gear as 'levels' is a load of crap to persuade players to 'keep playing once the game ends'. But a vast majority of the players won't be drawn into farming to 'level up', they'll just play another game.. or play just long enough for the next Call of Duty to come out.

It's ironic that the first commenter went back to Diablo since it has the same incentive style.. sure you're max level b...

Agreed on the multi-platform criticisms. A game doesn't have to be console-specific to be high quality.. that is a result of a well-crafted product. Had Halo been a multi-plat game, it still would've been the quality series it has been, there just would've been more people enjoying it.

The biggest distraction i've seen for Destiny is the forced multiplayer. I've said it before so I'll keep it short, but forcing players into a game style they don'...

In at least 2 of the 3 named examples, (obviously Titanfall and Destiny) I'd say the main issue is forced Multiplayer. People like to be offline, to disconnect.. to be able to pause. Died a few times in Destiny because sometimes you can't put life on hold.

Watch dogs was the true victim of over-hype. Uninteresting story and protagonist, and a genre that's already dominated by games like GTA where attention to detail is their specialty.

False. I remember this being my least favorite of the FF games between 7-10. I'd say 7 & 10 tie, then 9, then 8. FF8 seemed dull and lifeless, and Squall couldn't have been less interesting as lead protagonist.. I get a better personality read from Master Chief and he's a GD cyborg.

Good article, definitely hits the key points. I found myself saying 'yup' and 'uh-huh' to just about every one. Load times really aren't bad if you ask me, but then I've got a USB 3.0 HDD on my xbox one and it seemed pretty acceptable.

I do enjoy listening to people complain about the open areas and the few number of players they see. Conversely, when WoW first came out or whenever a new expansion released, there was such a massive influx of players...

There's only 3-4 people on a planet because it's instancing when you choose that area/map. If it was a true MMO, 'World of Destiny' for example, it would be a massive everyone-in-one-place game and there'd be nothing to kill. Instead you pick an area, it matches you up with people or drops you in another players' shared area with a cap of 3 people for a mission and probably 6-8 for an open area.

Instancing has been around for a while now. Much like ...

I work in a public K-12 environment, so I could see this being an argument I could make at my place of work. But once you get to the college level, you're paying to be there. And in many cases you live there as well. There is downtime in college, be it between classes, weekends, evenings, holidays, etc. You have as much right to tell these residents how they should/shouldn't be spending their time online as they have telling you how to spend yours. Maybe they're skipping and ...

Hype = Marketing. It's news to nobody that Destiny is a Halo/Borderlands. Hell I've been saying that for months, and I'm just a guy who reads internet articles. If you expected more than that, it's your own fault. It's a good game made by a good developer, but like EVERY game it's not for everyone. People don't like the forced multiplayer, and that was the key criticism for Titanfall.. good game, but not interesting for very long. I foresee a similar situatio...

Treat this game like 'The Last Guardian'.. it'll be out when it's out, otherwise enjoy the early access or play a more polished/finished game. If I have to make a guess, it's likely to be sold off to another company before it gets finished anyways.

Right.... Look here's the thing, the human eye can only perceive so much.. It's a physical limitation of our species. The only times that 1080p is even visually noticeable is when your screen is huge or your sitting VERY close to your tv. See here http://carltonbale.com/1080...

Based on the URL you might say "Hey, even the URL says it matters'. And it does.. but towards the bottom t...

Probably a good time to note that China houses roughly 20% of the world population. 5 million is a drop in the pan in that country. That being said it depends on price point.. people aren't working at foxconn for 18 hours a day to spend their months paycheck on an xbox.

It could be a matter of the game servers not being online early. With the recent occurrences of games being released early at Walmart, Target, etc they may just be waiting til the release is imminent, so if some do 'leak' early they'll be sitting idly by.

9 months in and we have a contender for top (insert daily genre) game of this generation! Such foresight. Wow.

Maybe they should teach Watch Dogs how to do reflections. And if you happen to not know what I mean, Watch dogs reflections show something completely different than what is actually behind you.. as seen here.

Nailed it. Especially true in November when damn near 50% of games are released.. there's no time to play all of them. Pick up the one you want the most, wait for deals on the rest.. or maybe get a few for Christmas, no price is better than free.

Definitely a game worth playing, and I'm glad this will introduce this game to a wider audience. As stated above it's not just a matter of porting a game from one platform to another, but having it play well.. and with the number of different plasmids and weapons, you really need the buttons that a console controller provides.

Sounds like an opinion on someone's opinion. Let the winner be decided by a duel to the death.

My biggest concern with Destiny is that it will end up like Titanfall. Fever-pitch buzz/hype, huge pre-order numbers, the supposed '10-year' plan.

Let me address that last one, because it's the most notable to me. Name a game that you're still playing from 10 years ago. WoW, maybe? Quake/Doom? Destiny is basically halo-borderlands. I'm not the first to say that and I won't be the last. 20 levels? C'mon, that'll take a week or two, tops....

I liked Titanfall more than most, though my friends still tend to play CoD:Ghosts when it comes down to it, so I play that instead and it makes me a sad panda. I liked Titanfall, but they made some choices with it that gave me a bad feeling about it's long-term success.

Most people whine about the (lack of) campaign, which personally I could give two shits about. Know how much CoD:Ghosts campaign I've played to date? 0 mins and 0 seconds. How much Black Ops 2 campa...
