There was also a large coronal mass ejection from the sun that may push northern lights down into the northern states in the US. HL3 confirmed.
The perceived "norm" is that a game ships as a complete product, and extras can be added on for additional money. Games that do this are OK with me.. even Battlefield and selling kit unlocks are fine, it's something obtainable by gameplay and available to unlock NOW if you're willing to pay.
What I don't like is the Assassin's Creed model.. picking out missions from the main story, and then trying to package those as add-ons. Or Destiny and how they handled...
Neither has Sony.
Well here's the deal.. if they "accidentally" nerf a weapon, break something that benefits players, reduce drop rates, etc.. they wait for the next major update to address it.
In this case, players were able to obtain some Sparrow racing rewards for free, instead of spending silver (aka Money) for it. So once they realized their revenue stream could be affected... hotfix.
I expected this because of one reason: Money.
Why let them port/carry over existing purchases when you can force them to spend more.
Updates to xbox 360 games were always short and fast.. definitely not the way it is on PS4 or XB1. I'm just glad I don't have metered internet like dish net, there's been game patches that would've used up their entire 15gb monthly cap. Or when AC: Unity on XB1 updated and it re-downloaded the entire 45gb game... Imagine that bill on a metered connection
Eh I like the staff at the locations I go to. Games are just under-performing there due to competition having better prices. I get $10 off at Amazon for having prime, and 20% off at Best Buy for being in their gamers club. That and unless I plan to play a game immediately I just wait for deals where I'm paying $30-40 for the game.
And that's a key reason why it's selling lower than the rest. Japan has essentially rejected/passed on the Xbox One, so of course a game exclusive to the console they don't want would sell the worst of all the Halo entries.
Exactly. I haven't read or seen any leaks, and surprisingly I'm still able to wake up in the morning and go about my business. And in 6 days, I'll play the game knowing exactly what I know right now... juuuuust about nothing, just the way I like it.
They've also stated they have no first-party games in development. At this point it's obvious to everyone that Sony has abandoned this hardware, and the only 'place' it sits in their eco-system is the rear view mirror.
Well that's not true.. I ran over two people in mine yesterday. One of them was even on the other team!
And very rarely does DLC contain single-player content in modern FPS's. What's even worse about Battlefront's $50 DLC (aside from the fact you can just about buy another game for that) is the vague description of what it contains. "4 upcoming expansion packs filled with new content, 2 week early access to expansion packs and an exclusive emote!"
Hard pass on the DLC, and someday I'll get Battlefront when it's on sale.
This is probably more true than any.. with cyber-security being in the terrible state it is, he'd be a government-contracted "hacker" in no time.
It's also $20 new at Gamestop.. been that way for a bit, but it's physical and in-store only. So Amazon wins on convenience, but the price has been available for a while.
Ryse is another example of an E3 game that was advertised as xbox but was running the demo on PC.
A bold generalization, though I understand your frustration with them. Their greedy approach of dissecting games into monetized pieces will continue to damage their public image in the gaming community. But people keep paying, as seen with Destiny, and until it hurts their bottom line I'd expect them to maintain business as usual.
Looks like it's an Emblem.. with 10 challenges you must complete before it unlocks .. in September. Woot?
Well it gives the illusion of lasting longer. Resetting everything you've unlocked only to re-unlock it again for an emblem has to be the dumbest incentive I've ever heard. Have you gone back to primary education and repeated grades 1-12? Why not? I'll give you a gold sticker if you do! Waste of time.
Me too! I post this fairly often, but you can just wait a few weeks to a few months and save anywhere from 20-50% retail price. Most the time I don't get around to playing a new release before the price drops, so I started waiting and it's damn near 2 for 1.. I got Bloodborne a few weeks ago for $31.99 (after Best buy's gamers club discount on top of a weekly deal)
Not entirely sure why, but swimming in games terrifies me. I think it was a bi-product of Jedi knight (or Jedi outcast)where the water creatures meant instant death. To this day I just 'nope' when made to swim.
