Definitely can relate.. a few months deep into Destiny I was still doing daily bounties and strikes. With Division I stopped after a month and loaned it to a friend.
Could be something like a twitter integration within the beta, and a pre-populated message they just click and send. Or they simply offered to give these people a free copy of the game in exchange for being part of their hype machine.
Gave up on them for a number of reasons, most notably the fact I have responsibilities and staying up late to get a game and playing it for a couple hours before I have to sleep isn't worth it. And that's assuming the servers for the game/console don't crash, or I don't have to download a multi-GB day 1 patch along with millions of other people.
I'll just pick it up the next day with no line and no weirdos.
Can't wait to play Cod4 remaster multiplayer against the couple hundred at peak times. Without cross-platform play you've got each console community, then divide that by the small percentile that'll pay for the Legacy and deluxe editions.
Yea that'd only make sense if you could buy it standalone.. but you can't. You have to buy Infinite Warfare and then it's either $30 to add CoD4, or you buy the Legacy Edition for $79.99 (USD).
While I'll probably get the digital deluxe for the season pass and CoD4, i'm a bit worried about how low the multiplayer numbers will be for CoD4. Not only do we get the divided player numbers by platform, but now there's a price-wall divider that divides th...
It's a pretty dick move on their part.. those who pre-ordered are the earliest of adopters, and for the time being that should be their target demographic. With so few games truly VR ready, the early adopters are really the ones carrying/supporting the product until a solid lineup emerges, prices drop, and mass-market appeal begins to emerge.
Right now I'm in wait-and-see mode, until software catches up and prices fall.
Exactly.. glad every PC game I play has it's own publisher-specific launcher.
Feels a little click-baity.. so I'm not going to click it. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion, so if the author doesn't like the game the world will continue to turn. The video segments/episodes are to show you the antagonist perspective. It's why you don't see the main character in them. Look at Metal Gear Solid 4 if you want to see a game trying to be a movie.
My only gripe about Quantum Break is the last boss fight.. if you've played it you...
Here's what I think would make an amazing Borderlands game. Instead of making it one planet with one vault, make the game take place in space with multiple planets. For example have the Hyperion base be the base of operations and you go to different planets, each with increasing difficulty. Have a map similar to the one in Destiny where you choose which planet to explore, and have 10-12 zones per planet. Then once you hit the higher levels there's a few planets you can choose from...
Yeah definitely a risky move making a sequel to an underwhelming game. I purchased the original Homefront to spite Call of Duty, but ended up switching back after playing Homefront a couple of times. This sequel will likely be the nail in the coffin, especially releasing it against Uncharted 4.
Yes, it must be the PR department holding up development on Alan Wake 2.
I can't speak to challenge mode specifically, but I found when doing missions and using matchmaking I could simply not accept the match it'd find me and would eventually make me a host.
Uhh it will definitely be expensive.. even 1TB SSD's run between $230-300 USD right now. SSHD is the way to go, get the storage capacity of a standard drive and the performance gains from the SSD storage. 1TB SSHD's run between $60-120 for comparison, and they benchmark around the same as a full SSD.
Pretty much.. it's a side-effect of giving a voice to every person through social media. 20 years ago we had no means of communicating to developers/executives besides maybe calling a 1800 number and voicing our opinions, and 10 years ago we could send an email that would be discarded. Now I can send a tweet directly to Shuhei or Phil, or any industry figurehead. And let's just call it like it is here.. the vocal minority are the spoiled, entitled, whiny bastards that shouldn't...
Exactly. I think people are taking his comments a little too literally. He said on Major Nelson's podcasts that they're not sending out screw drivers and cracking open the case to upgrade components. He views it more like how Apple rolls out phone upgrades every year. Sometimes it's just a slight spec upgrade, other times it's a significant change like retina screens or fingerprint sensors. And now that phone carriers aren't subsidizing the phone cost, people pay $700 ...
It's probably safe to say that the xbox is only where it is now because of him. In the Mattrick era they were pushing the "always-online or buy a 360" mentality. Phil is a gamer at heart, you can tell he legitimately cares about the product, the platform, and addressing it's shortcomings.
I mostly remember the fact it had no HUD, which isn't necessarily a bad thing. Beyond that, I also have no memory of the story..
Just wait a few more weeks and I bet you can get it for $30... sounds like a trainwreck launch. Good riddance
Has a pretty good feel for sure, though I've noticed the right thumbstick handles a little wonky. There is a slight drift that I noticed playing Just Cause 3 where it was constantly zooming out on the map and was pulling slightly down. Similarly in Fallout 4 I have a hell of a time doing lockpicking, it seems like it doesn't snap back to the middle and is constantly registering something and burns through some bobby pins.. I'm going to give it a wipe down and some can of air bla...
I'm curious if it won't also spur additional trouble in their lawsuit with Vince and Jason. They're suing for unpaid bonuses from CoD4, what happens when they re-release it and make more money from it? Maybe that's why it's bundled with Infinite Warfare too.. it's not a re-relase, it's a bonus item in a limited edition, therefore it has 0 sales.
