It was a popular game back in the day among those who played free to play mmos on PC.
I believe the reason for talking about this game is to give an example of one of the worst offenders so we don't end up there again.
I remember playing this game back in the day. It was one of the first free to play mmos on the market. The gameplay, atmosphere, music and community were great.
I didn't pay much attention to the item mall and always ensured I participated in events that game mall points.
I remember when my younger brother and I would grind all weekend long starting from Friday night. He would start Friday night when 2x exp was turned on and go all the way into Saturd...
I don't know about you but I want the tech to force titles stuck at 30 fps or 60 fps to achieve higher frame rates without needing a developer to update their games. Sadly, this will not happen because the console environment is closed and they want to leave the door open for remasters down the road.
This is good for those who invested in the PS5 Pro. I just hope it doesn't require the devs to go back and update there games to take advantage.
@Babadook7 what is your source for those claims about the update coming next year at or better quality than FSR4?
I read the article and watched the PSSR section Moore's law is dead video and he never made those claims. Is there some new source or are you making stuff up?
No console maker is going to raise console prices in the US by a large margin alone. They are going to spread the pain worldwide with increased like what Microsoft did.
It is common practice that if a business has operations in multiple markets and the cost in one segment suddenly skyrockets, they will either leave that market or spread the burden to other markets to remain in the troublesome area.
I haven't played oblivion as yet but does it have loading screens? No one is talking about it.
Fun fact, the remastered version of days gone still has loading screens. It is not the instant load like you see on PS5 and series titles but you will have to wait a bit to load into certain sections. I am not sure why they didn't polish them out and no one is talking about it.
There are still reasons to buy an Xbox. Sure PlayStation has a consistent track record of high quality releases, we are going into this with the assumption that you already own a PlayStation and you are wondering why you should buy an Xbox.
Backward compatibility with 7th generation games with enhancements.
Advanced parental control features that also extends to Windows PCs under 1 profile.
A while slew of games from the 8th generation ...
There are pros and cons for everything. You provided 2 good reasons to go all digital in your comment.
The ability to gameshare with your bother without the need for you both to buy individual copies of the same game and the space it takes up.
The problem with digital games arise when games get delisted or when the digital counterpart cost more than the physical.
One of the best graphics I have seen on a console. Truly a next gen experience.
The top 3 games are Microsoft published titles. Looks like they had a good month. I don't follow Minecraft but how can that game be selling so well for over a decade?
It seems like the console hardware makers are trying their best to push us into a digital only future.
I do not think it is on it's last legs as yet since there is a demand for physical games but time will tell.
It is sad the game is no longer exclusive to Xbox since it lessens competition but at the same time, having the games available on all platforms is pro consumer. I would also appreciate it if it has cross save support.
I think Valve should keep the mindset of making games that move the medium forward. Sure, many would like to see the Half-Life story continue from episode 2, but the next game in the series has to do more than that.
Half-Life games were always ahead of their time with each entry with the narrative FPS gameplay, the utilization of more advanced physics, and the visual push for more realistic character models.
Half-Life: Alyx, compared to other VR games, h...
So now they have to pay $70 like the US customers.
You have to bear in mind that most of the cost of games back then was caused by the expensive cartridges and retailer margins. It is one of the reasons Nintendo chose to screw over Sony with the disk based Nintendo console because they would lose all that revenue. Nintendo would collect the ROM from developers and then manufacture those cartridges.
I was able to locate a snippet online with a breakdown from the UK market. The US side may be different.
I thought the game was turned based, are there portions that require extremely responsive controls?
This is something that most of us have spoken about at some point without actual proof. Everything from story, gameplay mechanics and monitization structure is there to please the unsustainable expectations of shareholders.
This is why most games just feel like the devs got a homework assignment with a list of tasks to complete rather than a game that feels like passion went into its development from inception.
I hope it has a VR mode
The tarrifts should not impact subscription costs it is already high as it is right now.
The government needs a taskforce with serious fundung that can opporate across borders to go after cyber criminals.
It is getting out of hand and it is the regular citizens of the world that suffer the consequences of these hacks and breaches.
My fear is that if left unchecked, state sponsored hackers from corrupt or governents under sections may use this as a method of raising revenue at the expense of everyone else.
