True, I have both consoles and I see this as a win. I have no undying loyalty to either platform and spend money on things I want to see more of.
This is a huge win. I will try this as soon as I get home before Microsoft pulls the app. The only thing that is left is for someone to mod the dual sense controller buttons with Xbox buttons.
If it has the opportunity to launch on all platforms at launch then yes the sales would have been better but it is difficult to say by how much. It would have benefited from the excitement and marketing in that window.
One thing to bear in mind is that it would be a struggle to get the game running on the Xbox because of the series S. The game does not hit a stable 60 on either the base PS5 or PS5 Pro. Based on Digital foundry, it only hits 60 FPS during fight sequences on ...
I wonder if the talk about it not being an FF game is what caused the sales to be lower than expected. I haven't been tracking the sales but I expected it to be at least 7m copies.
I have beaten the game and the 2 DLC expansions. I have also beaten all side quests and maxed out each Eikon skill. I only need to beat the game at the hardest difficulty to get the platinum l. The game is significantly better than FF15 in every way. I wish more people gave it a chance. When...
That thumbnail makes the game look like it was released in 2024. The image of the fast zombies are not clear but the lighting alone makes them look more modern. I wonder if they will receive updated textures.
Final Fantasy 16 was a great game. It had one of the best combat systems out of many JRPGs. It does have some elements of it that could be better, like what the author of this article said. It would have been nice to be able to use fully transformed Eikons at will like in the previous games. I believe the FF13 and FF7 remakes were the last to allow players to do this. Let us hope FF17 will allow players to use summons at will.
POSSIBLE SPOILER ALERT: There are some other el...
You gave an example of how specific tariffs can help the local industry compete and keep their jobs. Unfortunately, that is not what is happening right now. It is a blanket tariff on all goods, meaning that even the raw materials used to manufacture those parts in your example are going to make the locally manufactured products increase in price.
When goods are prohibitively expensive, demand will go down. When sales go down, layoffs will follow. We saw this happen at Tesla...
There is a low chance of those jobs ever coming back to the US. When companies outsource, they end up paying somewhere around $3 to $5 per hour for each employee vs. what they pay locally. There is also the added benefit that the raw materials to make some of the products are locally available in the country they are being manufactured in, hence why China is a popular option. If you do the math, the labor cost alone in the US would cause those prices to increase to a stage that is even worse ...
Something tells me the PlayStation portal should be able to boot PS1 and PSP games natively.
Physical games for the US market are printed in Mexico. These tarrifts may cause the price to increase by 25%. To do the math, that will be $70 to $87.50 not to mention the increased cost of fuel and other distribution challenges caused by other tarrifts which may cause physical game prices to increase to $90 to $100. I hope I am wrong because these prices may motivate publishers to distance themselves from physical distribution because of the cost.
We may also see an incre...
I am curious to see the features, price and how the handheld will be marketed. I don't really have any use for it unless it can boot PC games and offer great battery life. The control scheme also needs to match the Series or Dual Sense controller layout for easy transition and not match the Nintendo switch.
Hopefully Phil and his team doesn't drop the ball by making it only able to boot Xbox games because the software lineup would make it inferior to every other han...
Well they had a good run.
If Microsoft still sees the Xbox console as an important part of their ecosystem, they will need to provide a compelling use case to gamers to choose Xbox over other platforms.
I have said it many times that Microsoft and Xbox should make it possible to boot PC games and Apps from Xbox if they want to remain relevant but we see no action being done to address the drop in console sales.
If you are an experienced gamer and someone comes to you to ask your ...
This is good. I love it when common sense prevail.
I would love it if they made xCloud available in the Caribbean.
This game is in my wish list. I may pick it up later this year because my current backlog is huge.
The question is, is PSSR going to be replaced by FSR4 on future playstation consoles and is the PS5 Pro FSR4 capable?
Not surprised it does. Your save progress is likely linked to that account so you will be able to take your progress to any platform the game is available.
If it doesn't impact your ability to actually play the game, that benefit is worth the inconvenience. This is a pro consumer move.
I will be trying the new level tomorrow morning. Can't wait.
This is good news. The more support the better.
