Phil is a PR guy for Xbox. Microsoft is transforming their company by making significant investments in AI. This is unfortunate timing for Xbox because just as they are able to produce a steady stream of games, Microsoft has different plans and is now doing what they can to cut cost across all their divisions.
This is just the start and there likely nothing Phil can do to stop what is happening because he is no longer in the driver's seat.
Isn't them removing political mods from their site a good thing, or am I missing something?
Now they are removing adult mods from their site to comply with a UK law.
Hard to get excited for this considering the company is actively canceling projects and laying off thousands of people right now. My confidence in Xbox has further dropped.
Sadly, this game had no PC port or 60 fps patch for current gen consoles.
This comes as a shock. I was actually looking forward to Perfect Dark. The gameplay we saw recently was great. What the hell is going on over there?
It is understandable. There is a finite number of units Mario Kart World can sell at this time. As stock improve, it is likely the game will continue to sell well.
Death stranding is not my cup of tea but, I am glad it is seeing some level of success.
You also have to take into consideration that most games are enjoyed by one or two people, while movies can be enjoyed by a group of people who are either friends or family.
Another thing is that the value of an entertainment product cannot be judged based on its length, but how it makes the user feel when it is all done.
An example of this is Ubisoft games. They can last close to or exceed 100 hours, yet many people hate on them for doing things to pad the length...
$80 games are not affordable in today's economy. If food, auto and housing prices were the same or a tiny bit more expensive than they were pre 2020 then it would be easier to stomach. I can't see myself spending this much on a game when other things have a priority on my money.
This is likely a software issue. I haven't played this game but I have noticed a few weird issues with overheating before on other games. I have a launch ps5 in the vertical position since day one. When I play Dragon Ball Sparking zero I will sometimes get that error message saying the console is over heating. It happens rarely and it does matter if it is a hot or cool day. In addition to that I don't believe I have had the issue with any other game.
Microsoft, Google, Amazon, Tesla and Meta are all trillion dollar companies yet they are laying people off in large numbers.
I believe the reason Nintendo layoffs off less workers may be a result of their culture. It seems Japanese companies believe in giving their workers long term or life long employment opportunities and will exhaust all options before laying off workers. This is something we don't see much of in the west unfortunately.
Not sure if we will see the day Melee gets added. Nintendo hates that game for some reason and they may block it on principle.
There are no good guys. Nintendo has patented gameplay mechanics and have even taking a company to court for using said mechanic. This action is not good for the industry.
While it is true that Sqaure Enix has moved away from turn based games compared to how they were in the past, there is a good reason for it.
Older gamers will know this but during the ps2 era, we were flooded with turned based games from Japanese studios and this created a form of fatigue back then going into the next generation.
When Square released FF13, they received heavy criticism for making the game turned based like every other FF game and not do...
This is a good month for PS plus.
In the VR communities people are excited for this. If I didn't already have a meta quest 3 I would be considering this just for the look and the new controller.
This is a sad situation. I don't know why Xbox didn't roll back the prices of their consoles after China made a deal with the tariff.
That console is basically unsellable at this point because their main competitor was already Perceived as the default console and now it is cheaper.
Why would this deal with Xbox cause meta to end beat Saber support for the psvr2 when the game isn't even available on Xbox?
It is more likely that psvr2 is under performing and they feel it is time to end support. The psvr2 headset only sells whenever there is a sale to make it competitive with the meta headset.
"It sounds like the game may have been ready and they just held it back waiting for the Switch 2 to release."
Mario Kart 8 Deluxe is just a slightly upgraded version of the wiiU version of Mario Kart 8. What you said is highly likely and this game was ready years ago. They just didn't want to cannibalise the sales of Mario Kart 8 Deluxe after it's huge success.
Nintendo can literally block your Switch 2 console from accessing their online services at any time. When that happens, it becomes a brick. You won't even be able to play those games that use game key cards that are not installed on the console. Some users who have been blocked tried factory resetting their system, and when they tried to boot it up with a new account, they are stuck.
Speaking of game key cards, the majority of third party publishers have opted to use th...
Why are we, as gamers, taking articles like this seriously?
There is no one size fits all in any aspect of life. The developers that choose to put their games on a subscription service do so because they see a benefit. No one is forcing them to do so, and not all games will benefit from being placed on a subscription service.
This finger pointing is a waste of energy. The negative press we are seeing against Game Pass is a consequence of the layoffs, stud...
