There are some deals to be had here, where there are a few games that are at a historically low price, but overall, it could be better.
For example, it is Black Friday, yet not all Sony titles are on sale, only a few of them.
Spiderman 2 is cheaper on PSN than on Steam, but this is an outlier.
Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart is on Steam for $23.99, yet on PSN it is $69.99.
Helldivers 2 on Steam is going for $31.99 vs PSN at $39....
How does this game run on the steamdeck?
Right now Windows is still a dominant force in the PC market. I hope Microsoft sees this as an area of opportunity and tries to optimize a gaming version of windows before Linux starts to markets hare. share.
That new VR headset is interesting. I hope they price it competitively with the Meta Quest 3 because they both have pros and cons vs each other.
Based on the features I know so far,
Steam Frame
Pros
Faster CPU and GPU performance.
Double the RAM.
SD Card Slot.
Official wireless streaming adapter for PCVR and flatscreen games.
72 hz to 144hz refresh rate.
Eye Tracking.
No fear of surveillance a...
"Also, did the games they’ve released already really move the needle that much where it made a big enough of a difference to them to start releasing them day one on PC?"
Helldivers 2, which is one of the few games that released day one on PC, did extremely well. As a gamer, I want to be able to play Playstation games anywhere and not be tied to their ecosystem, but from a business perspective, I understand why they would be cautious going forward.
Good for them because there is a lot of potential there.
That is unlikely based on historical data. If Valve limits the distribution of this mini pc to their own store similar to the steam deck then it will limit the sales.
In addition to this, the vram is half as much as the Xbox Series X and base PS5. At 8 gb vram, it would be in the realm of the Xbox Series S where it would be difficult to load high or ultra quality textures. This limits the amount they can charge for the device a lot of gamers may still choose to get a PS5 ov...
Let the 500 GB version be $399.99.
This is good for Ghost of Yotai. I was not expecting it to sell better than Ghost of Tsushima because many people didn't finish the first game. Having a large install base does help, and all I can say is congrats to Sucker Punch. They deserve it.
I don't understand. Most games on PC doesn't require you to go into any settings. The only times I have ever gone there is if my PC is struggling to run the game or if the developer does something stupid like leaving motion blur on by default. On consoles I tend to go into the settings to turn off motion blur when it is being used so the experience is similar.
Coming from someone who plays on both console and PC, the biggest advantage a console gives is that it allo...
The PS5 is currently the best place to play for home video game consoles so it is no surprise it continues to be a best seller.
I am surprised the Xbox sold as much as it did with the outrageous price. Maybe it was from all the clearance sales taking place from various retailers.
Tell me something, why would I buy the game, play the game then come here and be disappointed that people bought the game?
No one can refute that the game looks dated. If it were a $20 game, I would not say a thing but it is $60.
You are a part of the problem. Pokémon is the highest earning IP in gaming, yet Game Freak does not believe you guys deserve a high quality experience despite charging $60. From your comment, your thinking is aligned with theirs.
Why must Pokémon on the Switch 2 look like a GameCube game? They need to up the presentation because the Switch 2 hardware is not what is holding it back. I am not asking for photo realistic visuals, but they can give us the same visuals ...
It is disappointing to see another low effort game from Game Freak having a strong start.
I even saw a video on YouTube comparing the visuals of the switch 2 version to Sonic Adventure 2 on the Dreamcast.
When will fans vote with their wallets and demand better?
Guys when I am not gaming or watching media, I will read or listen to books for entertainment. There are a bunch of great books out there with stories that are super interesting.
I don't understand why these studios won't try to do an adaptation of some of those books instead of trying to copy each other.
Some of the best games around were adapted from some of these books.
This is how AI should be used. As a companion rather than a replacement.
@Grilla Quick resume is not an overrated feature. I have a PS5 and Series X. I can say with confidence that many on Playstation who love those single player experiences would see it as a game changer. Even if the loading times are fast on the console, it still takes 20 - 50 seconds to get through the game logos when you are booting it up vs being in the game instantly where you left off. I even did an experiment just now. I booted up God of War Ragnarok, and it took 40 seconds for me to get i...
I disagree. It can do almost everything a PC can do while giving you the handheld capabilities. The main concerns I see brought up by people who actually used it are the price and the Windows bottleneck.
I believe that in some instances, the performance is similar to what you will get on a Steam Deck because of how resource heavy Windows 11 is, despite their efforts to trim the fat with these handhelds. If you are someone who likes to tinker and has an amazing paying job wi...
"Only complaint is loud clicky face buttons. I'm assuming it will become quieter over time, we'll see."
The Xbox team designed the ROG Ally handhelds, and those clicky buttons are a feature of Xbox controllers. It will not get quieter over time unless it suffers significant wear and tear. I own a Series X, and that is one of my only complaints with the controller.
For years gaming influencers tended to praise controllers with clicky but...
The PS5 was a viable alternative when it launched back in November 2020. It had cutting edge technology not found on most PCs back then. The power of the console itself was also much greater than over 70% of gaming PCs at the time, and for the 1st time in years, you could not build a PC that could match the performance of the console within the same pricing range. The PS Plus subscription price was also reasonable at the time at $60 per year or $45 when on sale.
Sony had a ...
