I agree. They should release whatever exclusives are ready between now and September, and then let third parties do their thing October through November. Trying to compete with the third party big dogs only hurts exclusives' sales. Sony's gonna sell several million consoles over the holidays either way; might as well time it right so their exclusives can shine as well.

But what's there to be really hyped for on MS's side? The only big Xbox-related news in the last year or so has been Scorpio. Everything else has just been delayed/ cancelled games that we heard about 2+ years ago. What surprises can they honestly bring that will steal the show? Halo 6? Forza 7? Maybe Fable? Yeah... Big shockers there...

I don't think I've ever been this excited for an E3 pressed, and that includes Sony's 2013 conference. There's so much that can be shown here, and that's just from stuff we already know about. God knows what kind of megatons Sony is gonna be dropping on top of it all.
And when was Nintendo successful on the console front, besides Wii, in the last 20 years? Wii was a success because it was a cheap casual gimmick that got marketed to grandmas and children everywhere.

People are underestimating the power of third party titles. Without CoD, BF2, Destiny 2, and RDR 2, Switch is going to get overshadowed this holiday. The Wii U proved that even excellent Nintendo-developed titles can't hold the system over. People can say "I'll play my multiplats on PC", but that does nothing for Nintendo, and most gamers don't purchase more than one console. When the holidays roll around, and people are seeing PS4 flashing over all these big third party...

No, it's really not. The only conceivable reason for Sony to make one so soon would be out of the need to maintain a hardware power lead, something that is still very irrelevant to the grand scheme. They've got a very solid lineup of games to keep PS4 going very strong for the next few years.
I'm seriously keeping my fingers crossed for that Resistance 4 announcement.
Because there's a 20 year old time tested series that this game could've easily copied, and been perfect. But no... they just made a bullshit walking app, that was never able to properly function. Why Nintendo outsourced it is beyond me, and how they messed it up so bad is even more confusing.

I think it's well deserved. Excellent trailer. If that MP tease implies, we're looking at the CoD that finally pushes the series in a much bigger direction.

Awesome. Good job Sony. I think they're being really conservative with their March 2018 prediction, though. With Sony having the marketing deals for all the major third party titles this holiday, as well as a very solid list of exclusives throughout the year, the console is almost guaranteed to sell through at least 20 million more consoles over the course of this year, especially if either God of War or Spider-Mam release before March 31st next year.
I'm going to safely call BS because if you actually did, you wouldn't be thinking these devs should push these titles back and release them on hardware that probably won't be out for another 3 years.
There's still a decent amount of whiney bandwagon haters, but they can't be pleased no matter what.
