It just amazes me that time after time, it has been PROVEN that reviewers are biased or have agendas, just like any other human being... but people still elevate these people's "opinions" as if they were facts. It drives me crazy, and its an insult to both gamers AND developers.

I agree, and I wish I could. I wish gamers would unite and cast off this utterly stupid world of review scores, period. Let the review itself do the talking. In that case, both pros and cons should be mentioned, and people left to make up their own minds.
Harsh as it sounds, scores tell me one thing. Gamers are dumb asses unable to think for themselves in this age.
The problem comes when you "critique" with an obvious chip on your shoulder.
R2, which is flawed, is essentially nothing but slammed in their review.
Gears 2, which is flawed, is essentially nothing but praised.
Where is the consistency? If one game has a poor story and is marked for it, why isn't the other?

Misused Buzzword of the Year: Flop
Flop - Noun - A game that "shoulda dun betterz" despite selling strongly in a crowded season and being one of the highest scoring games of all time. Usually called out by bitter fanboys of rival consoles.

Rumor has it the US release of the PS3 version will indeed be delayed to allow a simultaneous launch.
I'm fine with it going multiplatform. But holding back the PS3 edition MAKES ZERO BUSINESS SENSE and just stinks of moneyhatting.
I also fear for the state of FFXIII DLC. Secret dungeons? Hidden weapons? $5 - $10 a pop. Disgusting.

I scoff at the 10's being tossed to Gears 2 and the 9's being tossed to L4D personally, but I wouldn't expect nor would I want everyone to think the same as me. That would be DULL.
It's not about the 360. It's about quality control, or the lack thereof. The magic is missing. Choices like moving to the U3 engine is stupid as hell because they didn't take the time to learn how to properly use it. If it won't run on the 360, then it sure as hell isn't going to work on PS3 editions sadly.
I would say its more about the merger with Enix than anything.
Ever since the merger with Enix, things have fallen apart. Magical, quality titles have given way to pandering to the west with lame attempts at using the U3 engine, as well as a ton of rehashes and ports. I'm sorry, but Chrono Trigger DS is a scam, no matter how good a game it is. Don't get me started on things like the PSP ports of FF.
And the biggest crime is, they keep pushing out this so so stuff without showing a SINGLE bit of gameplay footage from FFXIII. That has me worri...
Hell, I prefer late reviews. All too often early reviews are caught up in the hype of release, the rush to get a review out, some kind of exclusive deal for first review/incentives.
Later reviews give you a bit of perspective to see if that accolade holds up I feel.
No head shots servers for the win man. That was my biggest gripe with MGO (now they just need to drop Konami IDs).
Despite this games flaws, it was a great wrap up to a great storyline, and easily my game of the year.
