Yup. Gamers are winning, as we have a sustained 3 console market. Frankly, gamers shouldn't care who is "winning." The last thing we should want, however, is a monopoly.
There's nothing to learn. Sony simply just doesn't have the saturation of said marketing and won't toss upwards of $30 million (Gears 2 marketing budget) at a single title.
Frankly, I'd like to see said $30 million go towards a new game or keeping a talented dev studio alive. Maybe MS could learn from Sony in that respect.
I will remain cautiously optimistic. I just hope GoW3 ups the ante in the same way that GoW2 improved on its predecessor. Make it an epic finale guys, knock it out of the park!
Please stop d1cking us around and show us FFXIII and FF Versus XIII. In game. Gameplay. In the open. Not behind closed doors.
Please stop d1cking around with these mediocre RPGs. At this time in the PS2's life we already had FFX in the bag and FFXI under way. Let's get a move on here.
If this... coupled with all the other BS in reviews that has gone on at various outlets the past 2 years (The Gametrailers "editorial"/The Gametrailers "GRID" comparison fiasco/Kane & Lynch firings/"too much variety"/Shoe's infamous A+ review/Halo Swag bags among others) doesn't show people to value their own opinions over paid, biased, "professional" review outlets... then there is no hope for gamers.
I love the doom and gloom FUD "articles" that people spread on this site about both systems. They usually are easily noticeable because they use a question in the title.
Is the PS3 doomed?
Can the 360 survive the holidays?
Is this it for the Wii?
Well I have one for ya...

I'm curious as to why some people seem to revel in the concept of any game, be it new IP or tried and true sequel, "flopping" on some level. We are already in an industry being smothered by casualization, as our wallets are raped by DLC that should be included on the disc. Companies play it safe as it is, churning out cookie cutter sequels and rehashes over and over.
So a talented team gives gamers a fresh, unique take and an outright fun, if flawed, title... and we h...
Umm.. LBP IS fun. You remember fun right? Back before it was about YTD sales and RROD and profit margins and SKUs and all the other BS buzzwords that people seem to care about these days... Sad.
Hand holding is the worst thing to happen to gaming today. Everyone is so quick to PANDER to the casual market, that it really seems to strip games down from what they could be. I miss the feeling of accomplishment and wonder of exploring on my own and overcoming a problem by using the clues hidden for me in the game. This nonsense of AI partners lately telling me to "Go here, quickly!" and "Shoot the core when it stops!" is just asinine and frankly, ruins the fun for me.

I agree with your general sentiments Why o Why, but its a fine line that really depends on each unique situation. For Fable 2, the price seems right for a substantial amount of content in this case. What I can't stand is overpriced DLC and Day 01 DLC. Don't make me pay to unlock things on the disc, Namco... and don't put out $30 worth of weapon and skin packs EA. That's just BS.
I also dislike how DLC is taking away from replayability of titles. Now we need to spend MORE $ on t...
Only an idiot would want MS to "kill Sony" and put them out of the console business.

We haven't seen ANYTHING about gameplay from FFXIII, and people are possibly labeling it game of 2009? Psh, it won't even hit the US in 2009.
See, this is why HYPE IS BAD.
Anyone else think blur and depth of field are being ABUSED instead of used to improve visuals this generation?

Like I said in the other Home topic... what's with all the doom and gloom FUD.
Xbox Live is going to survive.
PSN is going to survive.
And you know what, THAT'S OKAY!
Actually. I agree with you.

The 360 lacks a next gen media format, basic built in WiFi, and a standard HDD. Reviewers better start taking that into account as well!
