I don't respect people in the industry who don't recognize the innovation and creativity of their fellow devs, while in the process advertising their own product.
Kill.Switch.
Hell, wanna talk about WINBACK?!
This is why I don't respect MS, despite the positive influence they have been via their efforts on XBL.
2008 isn't even over and I already have to read this tosh? Please.
2008 was year of the gamer.
If you care which toy sells more, you have bigger issues in your life.
The PS3 and the 360 are here to stay, that's all that matters.
Right about now Don Reisinger over at Cnet should be writing up some Sony/PS3/BD hate spam to counter this.
FFXIII may make Japan in Xmas 2009. Probably 2010 for the US.
Versus won't, anywhere.
Year of the Gamer.
LBP
GeoW2
L4D
Fable 2
NG2
MGS4
R2
PoP
Rock Band and Guitar Hero
Gah! And 2009 looks killer too!
Man of the Year. Well Said. I agree.
Viper... rumor has it the BD of LotR should hit fall 2009, but just the regulars. The Extended Cuts are being held for the release of the Hobbit in theatres. Gah, so far away!
And the Troy Director's Cut was freaking boss on BD.
Anyone else miss SSX?
What people seem to forget is that gaming is about FUN, and that is highly subjective. You shouldn't feel ashamed or "odd" because of the games you anticipate that suit YOUR needs and preferences.
I'll respond since you took the time to ask.
I don't "hate" Halo. Far from it. What I "hate" are Halo fanboys who think its the end all be all of FPS, and refuse to acknowledge other games in the genre that have pioneered and been just as popular. Coexistence is a term foreign to these silly fools.
As for the games themselves, I agree. I LOVE the universe, the mythology, the history, the sountrack. My biggest beef with the series is that I fel...
Because game "journalists" have nothing worthwhile or competent to write about. That's why we are smothered in versus articles and lame top 10 lists.
Gaming "news" is a joke.
(And the best part of Halo 3 was the video recorder. More games need to start implementing such an awesome feature. GG Bungie.)
I'm doing the same Viper. Slowly replacing big titles (Matrix, Pirates) while picking up the big summer movies like Iron Man in HD. Dark Knight is next. Movies like Tropic Thunder that aren't visual showcases I'll still go for the bargain DVD though.
A format that owns 12% of the market is dead, but one that owns less than 1% of the market (DLC) is fine and dandy? I just don't understand people on this site. DLC has a lot to overcome.
- People wanting physical media formats to own and call their own.
- Storage space and pricing
- DRM schemes, easily transferable services.
- Picture Quality (sorry, but even "720p" on Netflix or Live isn't true HD, its usually upscaled and CANT compare to a true...
Reisinger "article." Nothing to see here.
Crabby, you can be SO smart... why post such bitter stuff?
I'm still hooked on CoD4... damn you Infinity Ward!
Nice to see the industry growing. I hope devs keep making quality titles as this hobby becomes more mainstream and less "dorky" through the years... more socially accepted.
I hope internet/online gaming grows and becomes even more ingrained in system development. Our online in the US is suffering compared to the world, and the dream of lag free gaming is one I want to see realized!!
GG to Sony, Nintendo, and MS for keeping this industry alive, and to al...
*yawn*
Same people spewing the same fanboy BS on both sides. Nothing new here.
I dont even bother with most threads any more. It's the same idiots harping the same thing over and over again.
I miss when gamers were smart.
And IMDB listed Marshall Mathers as a voice actor of MGS4 for months. Let's sit and think on that for a minute.
The fog lit streets of France...
The snowstorm in Alaska...
Liqud's fortress...
The Rex battle...
That final fist fight at sunset...
Yeah, gonna have to disagree with you there. MGS4 is gorgeous through and through.
