Not upset at all. Seriously though, thanks for answering.
No, I'm not calling you out, it's just the general picture I see here. "Only PS3 fanboys" would say something bad about Gears 2. "Only 360 fanboys" would say something bad about R2. It's a constant pissing match, and it's almost impossible to have a REAL discussion on the pros and (gasp!) cons of EACH title.
I definitely don't think any site has a "consistent" form of bias, but every site does have people with bias, since people are biased by nature....
I hear the same thing from Xbox 360 fanboys on ANYONE that says ANYTHING SLIGHTLY criticizing Halo or Gears. Weird.
There ARE gamers here, believe it or not!
If it's simply your OPINION that R2 and Mirror's Edge are overhyped, then I won't argue, you are entitled to your point of view. IMHO, Halo 3, GTA4, and Gears 2 are probably the most overhyped games of this generation thus far. But I digress...
I think both Gears 2 and R2 have similar pitfalls. I think Gears 2 survives on its Coop, which is awesome and its best part. I find its MP to be broken, unbalanced, and the matchmaking to be a joke. I personally wouldn't call that a solid ...
Jenzo, serious question, no animosity towards you...
Why is R2 "overhyped" and Gears 2 isn't? I seriously want to hear your opinion on that if you would share it?
I think the Ps3 controller could use an update too. Personally, I think both have issues. The face buttons and D-Pad on the 360 controller are sh1t. Mix the 360's form factor and analog placement with the PS3's D-Pad and face buttons, now you're talking!
IMHO of course.
Bubbles for you. I agree. I want a game that requires more than "let the auto aim kill for you."
I also suggest you try Mega Man 9 :-)
Can I slam the 360 now for being "outdated" in not including a standard HDD, WiFi, or next gen media format? Please let me.
The funny part is, I like the 360 controller's analog placement. I like the form factor. But the face buttons and the D-Pad make me wanna puke. No controller is perfect, which again comes down to... you guessed it, preference!
I think slamming a game for being "tactical" and a specific experience is stupid. I WANT KZ to stand out on its own, I don't WANT it to be another Halo or Resistance. I WANT a more thoughtful, paced experience. You know, something DIFFERENT and UNIQUE for a bit.
Though I do want to hear about serious concerns with the game and its gameplay, considering they only played for a few hours, "balance" is not an issue they should be talking about just yet.
Wow. Thanks Gametrailers. You just cemented your bias.
Ya see, there is this thing called preference. It's okay to have one. You can prefer a controller, sure. But gaming "journalism" is supposed to give consumers "facts" to assist in their purchases. By letting your preference interfere with your job, you are doing a disservice to the millions of PS3 owners out there who, guess what, might prefer the PS3 controller!
It's already a sham that revie...
No consumer should have to deal with faulty hardware, especially if its the case that MS KNEW it was faulty when shipping it out. Consumers do have a right to complain/be upset about this, as they did during the PS2 era.
That said, I do applaud MS for taking the monetary hit and extending the warranties. It was a smart move on their part, and the 360 deserves to stick around as a console contender, since competition is good for gamers everywhere.
LOL.
Hilarious.
People need to learn to lighten up. It's pretty damn funny.
So you know the exact costs of developing L4D for the PS3? As well as the total profits they would make? Could you please give me those numbers?
I'd like to know HOW MUCH this dev cost exceeds the profits made.
"Should we use this as an excuse to say that Sony needs to lower the price on the PS3 again? Yes, I think so."
No. I think you should use an argument that has some weight behind it, such as comparative sales to its competition, the history of game console pricing, the economy, etc. You know, VALID arguments. (And yes, the PS3 could use a price drop to become more competitive.)
But using ONE SHADY retailer's REFURBISHED system price as a means for stokin...
I'd love to see WKC take off, simply because I think it could be an awesome property, and heavily reminds me of The Vision of Escaflowne.
I have yet to see a single game this generation from SE outside of handhelds that had the magic of the older FF titles, or the charm of titles like Einhander and Brave Fencer Musashi. Every game out today feels like an Ergheiz, and its disappointing. It feels like Square is stretching itself too thin. We STILL have no gameplay/demo footage of FFXIII, when by this time in the PS2's life we already had FFX and another FF in the works.
I don't care what system they develop for. I...
And it would be an even larger commercial success had it been on the PS3 as well. Thats why many devs are going multiplatform. More potential customers = more potential sales.
Profit comes first for the COMPANY. People still have opinions, and can still be fanboys, regardless of their job. Itakagi, Kojima, Nomura, Newell all have their preferences. For SOME (cough*newell*cough) its biting them in the ass.
Insulting a dev who is clearly a fanboy makes one jealous? Man, there are a LOT of people on this site jealous of the PS3 then judging from all the insults.
Reviews = good.
Review scores = stupid.
People need to start using reviews to INFORM themselves, not JUDGE something they haven't played.
