With the actual sales being less than ps3 and all the replacement units due to hardware issues (eg rrod) it's hard to see how it is technically ahead. If they were dead level, it'd be technically behind, wouldn't it?
Nobody really won that generation, at the end it'll all come out pretty even with only Nintendo having anything notable in the bank to show from it.
As for the current gen, it's less that a week old but it's already sugges...
@LeCreuset Well said, ++
and if his wallet gets all that fatter when he simply indulges his passion, that's great too, right?
smh...
@n4rc, no, unfortunately, I don't think they did. Well, to be 100% correct, the console that releases on Friday isn't, but in a year's time when many of the features are actually in place, who knows... right now, no.
dedicated, the thing that struck me most was this: "what if ... your TV and AV receiver are already switched on? If you then say "Xbox On," the console will turn the TV off. That's because it's really just pressing the "power" button on your TV's remote—there's no way to tell it to only press the button if the TV is currently off. If you're anything like me, the first time that happens, you'll deactivate the feature and likely never re-activate...
@hakeem0996 how are Sony's updates addressing problems a bad thing? They download in the background, you don't even have to do anything.
"SMFH" - yeah, you keep shaking away, have fun with that.
It was particularly well put.
No.
Won't be making the choice of this or Knack - both please for me and my son.
MorePowerOfGreen, you need to stop trying so hard. Just wait for your xbox one to arrive, hopefully it will work and you can then enjoy playing a few games as you really do need to take a break.
WTF is a "defection" rate :D THe rate at which the ps4 switches sides?
At least we only have to read one of his wild fantasy stories on each article.
"Sony will destroy your PS4s because XB1 was built from the ground up for next-gen applications "
...crikey...
@darthv72 - your edit - Playing from HDD is far, far faster than playing from disc - that's why all games install.
Septic is right. If you're going to review the new console it has to be based on what it does day one and what potential it offers for the future... it's not about games at all... reviewing a new console on the games available at launch is basically just reviewing all launch games in one big lump... and that's pointless (bu no more pointless than reviewing a console on launch day).
derp, MPOG... DERP.
0:54 - so revolutionary, the game character actually stood up before the guy playing it. smh... we all know this game has massive latency issues, no point trying to pretend otherwise.
There are possibly over a million ps4s arriving on doorsteps this week... isn't the usual consumer electronics failure rate something between 1% and 2% within the warranty period? Given those kinds of numbers, I'd imagine there will unfortunately be maybe a few hundred consoles that won't make it through the first days :/ But the stores will simply be able to replace faulty units, they hold back stock for exactly this reason.
MorePowerOfGreen. Comments: 155. Ignor...
But there's a spelling mistake in your reply - he's not going to like that one bit! :)
(especially as it's not really a spelling mistake but a grammatical slip).
Anyway, tomorrow night, greatness arrives and until then we can sit and watch a lucky few via twitch!
If you're looking for a walk-in ps4, don't go to the obvious game shops, go to the less fashionable and dingy stores that sell electronics, ones you might not instantly think of for buying games or consoles.
I'm sure Polygon will be rushing to update their review accordingly...
yeah, right.
