@rainslacker - which, when you think about it, is utter BS, 'cause the "backend stuff" isn't coded by the same people who do the physics or the same people who do the engine or... whatever. There's not 4 people sat in a room making Forza 5, all doing the jobs of 20 people, is there?

@nukeitall "My point was that if you read AND comprehend, then it is clear that the reason why Turn 10 can hit 1080p at 60fps is because the developer spends little time on the cloud due to all the inbuilt software infrastructure, so they can focus on optimizing Forza 5."

You really swallowed it whole, yeah? Wow.

"all the inbuilt software infrastructure" saves them time and lets them "focus on optimizing Forza 5"...

Backwards compatible to all game consoles with HMDI out*

*actual hardware required for backwards compatibility.

Smells just like a ms PR campaign in the making, well done!

“It is an extremely small lag that the human eye will not be able to perceive,”

Would that be the same kind of "imperceptible" lag that Kinect introduces?

Yeah, no thanks.

@Septic "We don't know what conditions the demonstration occurred."

Oh come on. They're at Redmond with Microsoft GPM Jeff Henshaw... I'd say conditions don't get any more ideal than those they used.

Stick this in the average family living room and it's going to be worse than having to repeat 4 out of 7 commands... so unless each xbox one comes with it's own Microsoft exec to hold your hand as you change TV channels it's ...

@HeavY - I had to laugh at that BAM, most inappropriate comment in the whole video.

Have to question if this is even going to work at all in a regular family living room scenario if it ignores a large percentage of commands with absolutely zero background noise.

Why are they drawing any attention to screen resolution when this is the exception not the rule? When this is an exclusive and there's nothing to directly compare it with?

Seems a silly path to walk...

Same kind of issue a few weeks ago at the Paris demo?

Most likely reason I can come up with is these pads are not actually production run units, rather they're an early run of effectively prototypes and not produced using the same materials as the real production runs.

These kinds of devices go through seriously strict wear and tear testing, if this was really a problem it'd have shown in the first few minutes of being subjected to these tests... they...

@thrust

Microsoft isn't a charity and xbox has and seemingly always will cost them more than it brings in, given what has happened so far. They'd do well to flip it to the likes of Samsung while they can.

MS has been striving to position itself to win the war of the living room for years now, but that war ended as a fizzled-out fart some time ago, it's increasingly irrelevant. There are newer, bigger and more important battlegrounds they need to f...

but that wasn't Sony directly, it was 3rd parties and mistakes and nothing deliberately done to deceive or mislead.

Those pesky interns yet again! They're bringing microsoft to its knees... I'm sure it was them who were responsible for the always online, DRM, check-ins, mandatory kinect, uncompetitive pricing, 360 games that became launch titles, etc. etc.

It was probably an intern who thought 32MB of esram was a great idea. That and reserving a whole 10% of processing power for superfluous non-gaming gimmicks. And an intern probably decided to spout lots of cloud nonsense and came...

You mean it was all a honest mistake? Blame an intern? Thrown him under the bus and it's all good?

Yeah, right...

@MCTJim and neither of those examples you linked were directly the fault of Sony, instead 3rd parties that didn't know their arses from their elbows.

That's a world away from Microsoft using footage they knew was ps4, blurring out the on-screen evidence and passing it off as amazing footage of their oh-so-powerful hardware. But you know, whatever keeps you raging...

As for your hate train, that thing rolled out of town months ago, leaving in its wake a deluge of u-turns, botches, half-truths and a whole catalogue of misinformation. Maybe you can find your misplaced cogent reasoning in the lost luggage office?
