@sc A lot of bricks-and-mortar stores refused to adapt or were reluctant to change and their downfall was their own doing. So yeah "bad stuff happens" but also plenty of good stuff with it. Blockbuster, HMV and other high street stores of the like are dinosaurs and not relevant anymore, they faded because they made the wrong choices or moved too slowly.
If you think their purchasing power was huge, what about Amazon, Play and the likes of Tesco and Sainsbury's? ...

Do your homework - BF4 on current gen is nothing like the same game that the ps4 & xbox one will have.
As for f5 made for next gen - that's your opinion. Many people would disagree with that as they believe it's very much built on existing tech.

YouTube compression is actually doing the ps3 version a lot of favours there and also to some extent ps4. When you see the game irl it looks a lot sharper abut also jaggies are more noticeable. Looks amazing, especially at sea... have to say the ps4 version looked way more vibrant when I played it, looks kind of washed out in this video.
Numbers have always been at the forefront of selling games machines and technology, it's nothing new and it's an easy sell - something you can get your consumer to nod their head along to your check-boxes.

What people have issues with is there has been all this playing down the performance difference yet, if we're to believe the strong rumours, the same game from basically the same engine on similar type hardware is pushing less than half the pixels. That's big news.

Well actually, when people are being tricked into thinking the two new consoles are on a par with each other when in fact the more expensive one is weaker, yeah, you can bet people would cancel their pre-orders in a heartbeat if they saw the real-life consequences of their misplaced trust.
