He doesn't actually say they are doing any GPU compute, just that the fx are "industry standard" and that the GPU is powerful and also that they are barely scratching the surface when it comes to ps4 - I'd take that as meaning "we're not as deep into this hardware as the Vita just yet" personally, but that the innate power of the console is making life easy anyway.

Currently it's got to be somewhere around 6m. It took three months and a holiday period to reach that 6m figure and we were already at 4.2m towards the end of December.
They would have to sell just short of a million a week to do those kinds of figures and they're currently selling everything they can make, which is around 1.2 to 1.4m per month...
The price is more fair, but if we're being fair then we should call it a prologue not a demo, because it is a complete entity in and of itself, none of this content is sliced out of PP and would make it in any way a demo or sub-set of another title.

Amazon often have these very early pre-order better prices, had the same on 2 other early pre-orders on ps4 recently.
But you're right in saying Amazon had it on sale for the same or less than the new RRP (old RRP was £39.99).

A 10% price cut isn't going to do that. If anything, it proves what we said all along - that they over-charged xbox one in the UK because they thought they could get away with it.
@ThePope We can prove many things with statistics, but a closer metric might be the Wii U's sales. That sold very well in its first few months on sale in 2012. By the time 2013 came, it dropped off. So far this is almost directly in line with how xbox one has performed.

A console doing this in real time doesn't do quite the same job of this that their image editing software they used here does. This doesn't prove anything, merely adds more confusion into the mix.

@strickers "it's selling quite well". No, it sold quite well in the first 5 or 6 weeks on sale in the holiday period, since then though, no, it's not selling at all well, and there are no excuses of short supply as they're everywhere.
The hot sellers charts on Amazon are not really that useful. Better measure is the historic chart.

The "Beta" aspects of this game were nothing much to do with kinds of Beta tests you are comparing it to.
The titanfall Beta was primarily to stress test the servers and see how the game performed when played on a large scale. Respawn claimed they discovered a number of issues that they could then address. It did its job. It was also about hype - create a fuss over access codes and people want to get in more and more - simple marketing tact...
