I didn't like Mass Effect 2(or any of the ME games for that matter,) it seemed more like a FPS than an RPG. SWKOTOR was last RPG made by Bioware that was actually any good. Except for Baldur's Gate, all of their other RPGs are very linear and the worlds are rather closed in,though they do a good job of hiding it. Morrowind, Oblivion, Skyrim, Kingdom of Amular and Dragon's Dogma are all much better than anything Bioware has put out this gen.

The media is using events like this to give gamers a bad name. Many gamers know better and take gaming in moderations. Or at least I've never personally met a gamer that would do this. The very very small percentage of gamers that do do this are the ones at fault not video games. Of coarse when it's a child, the parents should be moderating the gameplay. IMO, when a child is alowd to do something like this it should be considered a form of child abuse.

These articles that claim us gamers as a whole are something or other are starting to get on my nerves. Gamers are not a collective of borgs.

That's actually quite modest for a DQ release, but I'm not surprised. DQ has always been about tradition of JRPGs, but by turning it into an MMO, they they wall that out the window and betrayed their long time fan base.

Gameloft's freemium model is one of the most annoying out there. If they're not constantly begging you for money, they're trying to get you to post on Facebook every few seconds. You usely hit a point too where you can't proceed without buying something, so they really should be called pay to pay games instead of freemium.

I've also found them to be very untrust worthy, as a while back I bought one of their games, paying for the full game (Oregon Trail) ...

Actually it would be pretty boring. Without any competition, we'd get even less innovation in new IPs, as most of the best titles are usely the result of companies trying to one up each other. Without any competition, there would be no need for price drops either. Lack of choice is never a good thing for the consumer and amyone saying otherwise is either very short sighted or very naive.

Both games where great but in my opinion, Arkham Asylum was better. The game just had a creepier atmosphere. The first time you played it, you never knew what was waiting for you around each corner. There were moments that made me jump and I can't remember that ever happening in Arkham City.

But don't get me wrong, like I said, they're both great games, but I do feel that Arkham Asylum is the better of the two, if only by a small margin.

I agree that it would have been a bad move on Nintendo's part to do that. Origin's a horrible service and it would be a real turn off for many gamers if the Wii U was limited to Origin. Still if they did go to EA to learn the biz, you have to wonder why when there are plenty of better online services to study.

Dues the the hurdles involved in getting content on the Xbox, this doesn't seem likely to happen, but if fans want something like this, they should ask, not demand, nobody likes being ordered to do something.

Another silly article putting the Wii U down before it's even in the hands of consumers. The Wii U is a next gen system because it is coming out too late to be of this generation, it's a replacement for a system of this gen and it offerest an experience out of the box that nothing of this gen does. Regardless of people's opinion of what a next gen system should be, it's not going to change the fact that the Wii U is a next Gen system.

I agree. I've been a fan of Dragon Quest since I played the first game as a kid on the NES, but them going MMO with a title that has been traditionally a single player RPG has completely killed it for me. I'm going to give this game a pass and hope for something better with DQ XI.

So now instead of charging gamers a fee and monetizing them when they get hooked, they let them in free then monetizing them once they're hooked. Though I have played a rare few free to play and freemium titles that are done okay, most of them run me off with their constant badgering to buy stuff. While I don't mind paying for what I play, I do not at all like being constantly interrupted and badgered to buy stuff.

Drug dealers know they can get people hooked by g...

Being a collector, I almost never sell my games. Usely the only time I sell a game is if it offends me in some way or it's so bad that I can't stand it, but few few games ever reach that level. Once they're sold, I imagine that they get pawned off on some other poor sucker.

Some of those characters deserved to be forgotten, but I dare any long time gamer to go through that list and not see a few dear old friends as well. I Was hoping to see Marina from Mischief Makers, that was a good game, but had the misfortune to come out during a time when 2D platformers weren't cool. Nice to see Clockwork Knight get a mention. I was surprised to see Shantea on the list as I don't really consider her old enough to be forgotten. Lately I've been playing Shantea...

For me it does, though what's considered fun can greatly vary from gamer to gamer. But when I read that a developer isn't interested in giving gamers a fun experience, it sets off the red warning lights in my mind. When I shell out sixty dollars for a game, I'm not paying to be preached at, be persuaded to some else's opinions, to see someone's art or be bombarded with political statements, I'm paying to have fun and I better think the game's going to deliver or m...

I enjoyed the article and pretty much agree with the writer. For the motion gaming issue, you can't run down Sony and Nintendo without including Microsoft too. I agree motion gaming is for the most part dumbing down gaming, but MS with thier Kinect camera is just as guilty of this as the other two companies are. Along with the over the top violence, developers have also been going way overboard with profanity and sex as well. In the sea of smut, it gets very hard to find a game these...

I never said that it wasn't popular, I was just saying that many who game for long periods do not want to do it in a way that requires moving around.

As for the cartridge and optical disc argument, it's not really relevant here as these are mediums of storage. But to tell you the truth, cartridge has always been better than optical disc in matters of speed and reliability. But optical disc won because it was cheaper for large amounts of data. But as memory gets chea...

It's a nice dream, but technology for reading our minds doesn't currently exist and it will be a long time if ever before it does. For the foreseeable future movement of some form will be required for playing games. Even the so called mind controlling devices that have come out over the last couple decades only work by sensing the muscle movements around the temples and the devices have never gone mainstream for gaming because they are actually more difficult to use instead of your h...

Maybe Bethesda just feels that the Xbox gamers are the only ones who are willing to pay to be beta testers. Now they have time to fix the many problems with this addon before releasing it on the PC and PS3.
