Alot of America gaming sites are outwardly bias where everything playstation announces is bad vs whatever the scrappy underdog Microsoft does is somehow good for the consumer. It's just another form or propaganda. When Microsoft buys their next 3rd party publisher it's websites like this that will say that they were forced into making the purchase buy greedy/dominant Sony. Lol
This new digital model offers functionality/adaptability that the original
digital model doesn't, companies will charge for such a feature (and more storage). If i was in the market
i would just buy the disc model for $50 more and get the detachable disc drive for the same price as the original. Sony is not interested in presenting itself as a discount/Walmart brand like Xbox, yet their prices are comparable. The author appears to have a twisted view of playstation succe...
@Sparky, Microsoft hasn't made a single new ip. They have simply bought the work of others.
@Fox, when are you going to stop talking about your "feelings " and deal strictly with fact. There was no out of the ordinary mass exodus from ND after tlou 2 that's Jason Schrier bs narrative creation. No one wants their multi-player game? I do, so do millions of others, get real. What fiction are you going to state next?
@isarai, James Ryan is leaving in 6 months, there is nothing "hurried" about his retirement, lol, get real. Gamers/media seem to be having a hard time accepting that playstation will no longer be talking about games too far in advance.
@vengeance, grow up.
@Ryuk, if you don't like the games don't buy them.
Just under 3 years into a generation that will be going till 2028 at the earliest. Take a deep breath and relax, this ND hate has gotten out of control. Lol. People forget that tlou 2 came out at the very end of the ps4 generation, a generation that didn't have a pandemic slow down and mess dev times across the board for 2 years. It will take time but haters shouldn't decieve themselves, ND is in the lab making their next masterpiece.
@BeHunted, whether or not you are paying full price for the subscription service the game itself is essentially free with it. Standards will fall as the incentive for producing the best quality of game (higher sales, more dollars) is broken. No company ultimately wants to invest as much time and funds into products the customer is essentially getting for free. You want the best you have to be willing to pay for it.
Remember folks, they are giving this game away for free on gamepass. "Free" eventually means they will cut corners to save money up front as there is no incentive to produce the absolute best quality "money can buy" for the paying customer. This is your subscription future in a nutshell.
@Jin, ND themselves said they had scrapped their original plans in pursuit of a bigger concept of factions. Sometimes things don't go according to plan.
@Fox, regurgitating a bunch of internet rumor and innuendo is not proof of anything. Suggesting that Druckmann lied about the plot details of the Last of 2 is kinda bananas, why would he spoil his on game. This is exactly that type of hyperbolic rhetoric I see anytime a ND game is mentioned online. All these rumors and ideas as if to suggest ND is somehow in deep decline etc, it totally detached from reality.
@raven, how do you know what Bungie did or said? Unsourced reports from that idiot Jason Schrier? Lol. You guys will believe anything if it's what you want to hear.
@Fox, I will never understand the mindless internet hate for Drukmann. Just because he had a big role in making what to me was the greatest non-vr game of last generation in the Last of 2.
@Cappy, hyperbolic much? Lol. Let me guess you're an Xbox fan.
@Obscure, what's your point? The game may be canceled, so what. Instead of releasing games below ND high standards, like Microsoft did with redfall for example, you shelve them. ND's only error was informing the public about this project so early in development.
@Obscure, all subscriptions prices are going up because the model doesn't work. The worst part is is that once the average gamer can't afford the monthly payment they will lose ever game they didn't pay for directly, this is the future under Microsoft model. Microsoft the big fat bloated corporation has spent 80 billion on a division that is failing, they will want to recoup that money eventually.
What are you talking about, this isnt hard to understand? Newsflash giving something away for free that you normally would sell at full price will result in a dramatic loss in revenue.
Propaganda.
@Inverno, unless you are a hardware engineer and know what was and wasn't available to Sony or their development time-line then do yourself a favor and be quiet. You don't know what you are talking about and are writing from a place of ignorance.
