Not good enough for xbox fans who have been hyping this game as game of generation material etc etc. I was sure this thing would get in the 90s becuase it was presented well and reviewers seem to be rooting for it to be great not just good.
Before BG3 I would have said TOTK for sure, but bg3 has the new and unexpected vibe going for it i think it will win handily. Plus it's a multiplatform game a voters seem to prefer those to avoid console wars.
Honestly this is a surprisingly low score. IGN hands out 9s and 10s rather easily the actual video review was like a guy trying to deliver the news as gently as possible.
200$ is more than reasonable, its almost at impulse buy certainly for someone like me. Expecting 100$ is in now way reasonable.
The steam deck is just an extention of your steam account If it had to rely on its own games it would die on the vine much like the vita.
@elda that's fair. I will buy it because it relatively cheap and there are times I don't want to or can't go and play on my TV.
I have some wired buds I will use. There is no need for proprietary headphones.
@darth, yep.
It's not trying to solve a "problem " its giving ps5 owners and accessory option. There's always these weird media and internet campaigns against anything playstation related.
Its companion device for anyone who has a ps5 (over 50 million when this launches) who wants to play it portably/remotely at a reasonable price. And it's from the manufacturer of the ps5 which gives it a leg up over other similar products on the market.
@Taco, stop spreading misinformation, it can connect over any wifi network to yours.
Same, ear buds have always been way more appealing to me.
@Inverno, not even close, it would cost well over $300 today plus it would have to have its own games made for it if it was the exact same product. The portal is a companion device and nothing more. If it's a success I could see Sony adding additional functionality down the line.
@Inverno and what would the vita cost if it launched today?
You wanna bet? I don't know how anyone viewing this product realistically can think it won't succeed.
@hiro, The internet criticism of this product has nothing to do with reality. The average consumer will see this as an accessory to their ps5 and then make the decision without even considering what the handheld can't do as the console warriors have obsessed about since the products announcement.
Don't know what you're talking about, there has been more games to play this gen from playstation this early then the previous one.
@ocelot, I will never ever use my phone for gaming, and I'm not alone. This thing will sell well.
Day 1!
We'll see if there is a sizeable increase when hardware numbers are officially released. Too many times reports like this come out and the actual number end up not supporting them.
