The Opinion is pretty weak. They fault the users for potentially creating bad levels not the design of the game itself in order to arrive at the conclution "it will probably suck". LBP when released will give potentially millions of gamers the oppurtunity to create and share their own games. It will be tough for Sony to make futher cuts in price as they have just started to approach profitability in their gaming department.
I started out being an Nintendo fan,i owned a nes, snes and an n64. Along the way I also owned a sega genisis. Once the PS came out and started to offer games that were more to my liking as my tastes matured I made the switch to Sony and that is were I have stayed. Im not into gaming enough to justify a purchase of all three but I definately see the quality offerings of Nintendo and MS. I have borrowed a 360 just to play gears and if the price keeps coming down along with the risks associated...
He was one of the first big developers to publically critisize the PS3's design and now it turns out his own game will turn out looking better on the "inferior" console. Why cant he just admit he dramatically overstated how bad the PS3 is to develope for.
It kills the guy to say anything good about the PS3. "Winning the format war" what does that have to do with putting games on blu ray? As if the guy would admit anyway that the PS3's architecture is not as bad as he initially made it out to be.
What would be the point in square even mentioning another game now regardless of what system it will come out on. How many years has it been since square announced the present titles they are still working on.They wont be finishing FXIII (which will take more time and resources now that their is a 360 version) or versus any time soon, that would put a FVII remake or sequel even further out of reach.Unless square can find a way to make their big titles faster any talk about another seperate FF...
I think the more correct statement is that the general public is less concerned about flashy graphics if it drives the price of the console out of reach for the average consumer. I think Sony may be able to mitigate cost to some extent next time if they simply build upon the existing technology used for the PS3.
So Sony should cut off a good revenue stream, to force people to buy a more expensive product that they sale at a loss or are just possibly breaking even on? If you going to make such a suggestion at least include a comprehensive analysis of how Sony could do such a thing and end up in a more positive financial position than they are now. The PS3 is selling just fine now, profitability is what is important not winning some imagined console war.
Cant wait to get home to play this, the review seems like an honest opinion. Sounds like some dont necessarily have a problem with the cut scenes just the way they are distibuted in the game, like there to heavily weighted towards the end. Guess I will know by Sunday.
I really had strong interest in those titles especially eight days. This is dissapointing!
I hope EGM is this upfront about all the games they review. There is nothing wrong with refusing to review the game under such an NDA it is their right to do so. But we better not find out that they have agreed to similar NDA's for other games, or they would be guilty of hipocracy. If your going to come out publically and make a moral stand for jounalistic integrity, than you better be consistent about it.
If your going to give the game a 9.9 you go right ahead and give it a 10 unless you purposefully want to stop short of giving the absolute highest praise possible. Its kind of silly
Microsoft still throwing stones in their imagined console war with Sony. Its unecessary comments like these from both camps that has poisoned the atmosphere whenever video games are discussed online. He should try acting like an adult and drop the trash talking, is he incapable of talking up the 360 without casting dispersions at Sony?
I dont think the problem at least for some is cutscene in general its just one that goes on for 90min without some gameplay mixed in, it tough to get your head around thats all.
Your most likely right. When you hear 90 mins you think damn thats like watching a whole movie but until you play the game, you cant fully understand why its necessary. Kojima is a meticulous developer, everthing he does has a purpose. Iam anxious to see how interactive the cutscenes are and how it is implemented.
Love MGS but 90 min thats 1hr 1/2 of watching. There is nothing that can stop me from buying this game but I think waiting to play again for 90 min seems a bit much. I guess if what you seeing is engaging enough the time will probably fly by.

"Journalist" is a title very few if any of the reviewers on these websites deserve to carry. It is a shame, that someone put so much effort over 10 years to make a game work and just couldnt quite succeed. I know what thats about, sometimes no matter how much effort you invest in the project to make it work it just doesn't.
