Both versions look good but I'll give the edge to the XBox 360 for some of the lighting and reflections. However, I think this is definitely related to development kits. The X360 has a year jump on developer's knowledge. I'd expect differences like this to get smaller and smaller.

I'm not surprised that people are warming up to the system. As a piece of technical hardware it is very capable. I've been saying what GaMr commented on for a long time now. The PS3 is following suit with the PS2. Everyone thinks it's pricey in the beginning but eventually it gets good games and people buy it.

If indeed this version of the X360 is real, it's not MS trying to surprise Sony or trying to justify marketing it. Competitors don't often get surprised by new products, this is natural progression. As for marketing it, it has a larger hard drive, support for newer HDTV's through HDMI, that's easy.

Let's just say for a minute that this is going to be released on May 1st, if MS comes out with that info today, then they'll see a dramatic decrease in their hardware sales now. So a...

This rumor just won't die. I do hope it's true though. I haven't purchased an XBox 360 just yet. Cooler, quieter system with more storage. I'm in.

It would be extremely beneficial financially to all system manufacturers, developers and publishers alike if their was one uniform platform. Sure the current way promotes diversity, different experiences, etc but imagine this: A console with the capability of XBox Live, a controller that can both rumble and have sixaxis-capability, compatible with a remote like device from the Wii, HDMI output, a Blu-Ray player, and no picking-and-choosing based on exclusives.

Then again world ...

This definitely looks awesome. I think Capcom underestimated how popular this could be. Sure RE4 was a success but maybe as someone mentioned an RE4: Director's Cut that has this as an offshoot story.

Listen, one guys opinion is not this newsworthy.

1) You don't know he is really an EA dev... and so what if he is.

2) Think for yourself.

So wait a minute... I lose the horse armor! Wait... didn't you have to buy it anyway?

Hey when it comes to the U.S. I think it will be time for me to get my XBox 360 finally. Hopefully this will include a 65nm CPU and be just a little quieter =)

The glory of consoles is that the hardware remains one spec even if it goes through various revisions. The problem with PC gaming is it often requires a large amount of configuration and developers have to program to support laundry lists worth of hardware. Sony would be shooting themselves in the foot by upgrading the speed of their processor.

Very cool, I didn't expect Sony to start production this early. For a system that is already very quiet this may allow even more noise reduction. More importantly the long-term benefits of less heat =)

I'm inclined to believe the PS3 does have a hardware scaler. As mentioned a Microsoft employee is not the most credible person because a) they're direct competition and b) he's not programming for the PS3.

Enough articles lend themselves to the fact that pre-release developers were able to use scaling features. Likely this is a software issue that will be resolved.

Sony has downloadable firmware updates on their website: http://www.us.playstation.c... -- As for leaving out the "non-high speed internet gamer" ... their is no such thing as a dial-up gamer anymore. Any gamers that are on dial-up have been left behind years ago because of lack of bandwidth. Very few games could allow for acceptable dial-up gaming on PS3 or XBox 360.

I'm relieved that Sony was smart enough to put a scaler into the system. For a little while it was starting to look like some of the doubters were right.

Certainly only good can come from this. Why Sony has not allowed full access to the scaler could be very similar to Microsoft's reason in the beginning of the XBox 360. Most likely... software.

Hopefully this game will bring the turtles back to their former glory. If not I vote that we banish them to Dimension X for a while.

I really want to play this game. The other 3 were a lot of fun. Excellent graphics too.

Yeah, I was excited for the Wii. I played about 20 minutes of Zelda and loved it. Then I played Excite Truck & Red Steel when my brother got one. I'm not nearly as impressed.

I'm beginning to think the Wii could be a fad. It's going to take some great games to make it successful in the long run. Waving my arm around to play the games does get old fast when you're actually doing it.

You know it really is sour grapes to come onto a thread where Sony has fixed something to say they won't fix something else. Your presumptuous in thinking that you know the real reason for the scaling problem.

On the topic of backward compatibility you should not put Microsoft on a pedestal both for it's Windows OS and The X360. Over a year later there is a laundry list of XBox titles that do not work on their new system.

Enjoy your XBox 360 and whatever other sy...

I agree, I use my PS2 more than any other system. Of course, 2007 will also be the year that I make some upgrades too. But the list of PS2 games I want to play/finish is long and growing.

I'm looking at you Rogue Galaxy & God of War 2.

This is ridiculous. Anyone who gets hurt using the Wii is not using it as intended. Slight motions react well.
