I remember the movie 'The Descent' has some issues on one of the Blu-ray players though it didn't effect the PS3. More @ http://bluray.highdefdigest...

Also noted in their is some of the technical issues HD DVD had with some of the launch titles from the Weinstein Company.

I don't own one yet. I'm still last gen until more games are out for both systems. I'm just posting this as a fair warning to anyone here that might be interested in the movie.

The CPU shrink is coming sooner than 2008. There are a few reports about it floating around.

While especially good news for Sony this is good for all gamers. There is a big divide between Sony & MS fans but the fact is for your games to be great both companies have to be successful. It furthers the industry.

For example, look what has happened in the PC industry with various versions of Windows (Millenium... I'm looking at you) because it went unrivaled so long. Or how about EA with the exclusive NFL license...

Sony has talked about hardware revisions on the console for a while. Don't be surprised if they release versions of the PS3 with a larger hard drive. They could just evolve their current SKU's from a 20gb basic to a 60gb basic and then a 60gb to 120gb premium for example.

Since their drive is easily replaceable there is no rush though.

I just saw your PM this is what I wrote back:

"GaMr you have great submissions here, I'm not calling that into question. But if you use " " it should be a direct quote not verbatim. I could have jumped the gun."

EDIT: I meant paraphrase not verbatim.

I can take your meaning with the games Spyro and Ratchet & Clank as they are both platformers and not exactly recreating the genre.

You've now mentioned Halo 2 a few times though. I'd say the Halo series hasn't done much to further the FPS genre at all. It's pretty standard run and gun fanfare with a bad story. I'd much rather run through... say 'Chronicles of Riddick'. I'll take Halo for what it is but that's hardly a pinnacle of innovation.

Back on the Wii ...

No opinion is completely bias free, including your own. However his list brings up some decent arguments. Mostly it comes down to opinion.

You can't knock the developer for the games they have done especially when they are popular and well made. I can easily take a stab at Bungie by saying: a story about innovation coming from a developer that made, what? 3 versions of Myth and 2 versions of Halo (soon to be 3).

My point is before you throw around a "biased ...

I'm glad that more and more people are standing up against the Wii. While it's controls are a nice feature for a console to have as an option, it grows tiring as standard gameplay. Even my brother who rushed out and bought one is planning on selling his.

If you have to decide between who will "win" and it's XBox 360 vs. PS3, my money is on Sony (that's not to say I won't get both). The sales are doing well considering the game library and Sony's first party games are ...

I don't think the 1080p is a mistake, not long ago they were saying it would be 720p. If they're saying 1080p now they probably had some breakthroughs in programming.

Don't apologize and ruin it by "I have to stand by my original post." What you said wasn't so bad, it's just not the right place. Everyone knows what you meant but the rabid fanboyism behind your post doesn't excuse you from being a human being.

Food for thought... it is possible to be adaptable. The PS3 reaches beyond gaming as no doubt the XBox 360 will too. It is fine to like both of the systems on the merit they both deserve... games or disease research alike.

All the ones you named have potential. As for Gears of War it's unlikely. It really depends on how the contract is structured. Microsoft is publishing it but they may only have the rights to do so for a certain time. If that's true it's free game after that... again possible, but unlikely.

The number is growing and growing. Right now the users are up to 27K and 14 hours ago only 14K. The PS3 is producing 668 teraflops (vs PC's 152) with only 5% of the users that are on PC. If PS3 gets as many PC users it will produce 13.36 petaflops... incredible.

I really hope this research yields some positive results. I'd like to see other distributed computing on consoles as well as it's clear that they expand beyond entertainment now.

This is pretty cool. As one user on the site points out the PC is usually alloted between 5000 - 20,000 frames while the PS3 is being given 400,000 frames. It is definitely churning numbers faster.

If you don't feel like waiting you can see Harry Potter on HBO HD. Lord of the Rings on TNT HD. Star Wars is on Cinemax HD. If you have Comcast they were on demand pretty often.

For those talking about the Matrix on Blu-ray.. this is the latest according to highdefdigest.com:

"No Blu-ray version of either 'Matrix' set has been announced. However, Warner says it plans to release a comparable version later this year, once Blu-ray's much-touted BD-Java environment is finally ready for prime time."

http://ww...

In the end Microsoft will have to end up supporting Blu-ray if it's sales continue. Both Dell and Apple are supporting it and in the PC world: capacity is king. Don't be surprised if they make a Blu-ray add on to "offer all options to consumers" or something to that affect.

For $9.99 you can get a switch that will allow you multiple component inputs.

Nice but I'd be curious if it was a 65nm processor as well.

I think the 2007 version shows a lot more style than 2006. I hope this game is fun because it looks cool.
