The counter on their part is that Immersion has an updated rumble feature, if this is what they include then they can put the spin on that.
Probably not. Microsoft has had the jump on Sony with online features for a while.
Sony is going to do what they did in the original Playstation era. I bet they release an updated controller... the Dualshock 3. Microsoft is no stranger to this with the XBox either. I wouldn't be surprised if they get an updated controller like some rumors suggest.
This firmware update sounds really cool. Old Playstation games are getting tougher and tougher to find. Their are so many great games though that could be made available for download that I would be very interested in owning.
Hopefully some publishers/developers see this as an opportunity to bring over some games that never made it to the U.S. as well.
Yeah my buddy has a 60GB model and it gets a little warm after a few hours. Honestly, if this is like their XBox 360 model... forget it. Once Sony & MS bring their 65nm cores to the market you should significant reduction in heat anyhow.
Thank you. Halo is just another first-person shooter with a bad single-player story and multi-player that gets old quicker than most people want to admit.
The Longest Journey was an amazing adventure game. It was fun to play familiar faces in Dreamfall but their was a distinct lack of adventuring. Hopefully the 3rd in the series can go back to the roots.
So Mass Effect looks decent but most of the other titles are available somewhere else or I just don't care. As someone else said what are non-exclusives doing on the list? Forget Army of Two... how about Blue Dragon?
Xi,
To be fair I did say focus and not "nothing but" and to name Forza doesn't help your argument. Games like Project Sylpheed, Lost Odyssey, and Blue Dragon are intriguing, so no I'm not being closed minded.
I was commenting more on Covenant's selection of titles. I didn't give the system a fair shake though.
Not that I'm against getting an XBox 360 because I eventually will but Microsoft is continuing a boring trend again. It seems their focus is on racing games and first-person shooters. Both are a dime a dozen.
If you're looking at a few exclusives like DMC4, Lair, MGS4, FF XIII and Heavenly Sword well I'm sorry but I'll take a PS3.
This is definitely going to be amazing.
Whether Blu-ray takes hold of the HD media on a long-term scale or not, the inclusion of Blu-ray from a development standpoint is still great. Being able to include HD CGI and extra content (think God of War) and such on games is a good thing.
Yeah, I still play this game from time to time on MAME with friends. An XBLA version would be very nice.
As I said on "Sony Silent on US PS3 Hardware Revisions" the removal of these parts is NOT a bad thing. It makes manufacturing cheaper which gets passed on to consumers eventually. Also enhancements to games are only going to be done through software not original hardware.
Seriously, look in the mirror. Calling out fanboy is like admitting to being one. Get over it.
I know the developers that Sony has picked up have worked out while and generally make excellent first-party titles. If it's EA vs. Microsoft, in gaming MS is the lesser of two evils by far. I'm not a fan of EA, they're IP's get so watered down.
To me some games are worth the price and some are not. I have a hard time letting go of games and unless I just don't like them, I keep them. The reason being is games, unlike movies become very difficult to find. Their are tons and tons of must-have games out there that you pay a lot for now, that could have been had cheap at some point.
Since Sony released the PS3 they have been updating firmware with various fixes to improve compatibility. No one should be shocked that this move is coming sooner rather than later. In fact, as some had mentioned Sony did announce that the PS3 would be backward compatibility through emulation.
Furthermore, this is not a bad thing. As has been discussed before things like upscaling aren't going to happen on original hardware, it's going to happen in software. Also on the note of...
So wait he's not impressed with the Wii either?
Guess that makes two of us.
Firmware is the system software so that would add support for a new controller at the system level. The games that have come out on PS3 don't have rumble support so each would have to be patched individually.
