I am not a fan of corporations. But, he did sign an NDA. The reason for the NDA is to make sure a company remains competitive in whatever industry. Stealing and selling secrets is a huge side business. I used to handle proprietary corporate information and you wouldn't believe the amount of stuff you had to sign. But the reason is it's information that can ruin a company. Or help the one receiving the information.

If you think it's not a big deal, list all of you...

People are making a lot of assumptions about what the next Xbox will be capable of. They believe because the specs seem lower that ultimately the power will be. But design plays a huge part in ultimate power.

Microsoft has it's own chip designers. And I actually believe they are further along than AMD on HSA. HSA can make the same parts far more powerful. So The lower Microsoft specs could still lead to a lot more powerful console when it's all said and done.

I agree with online passes. The developer gets nothing for used games. They have to get something for their work when the used game has prevented them from potentially making more with their new games.

Sony already seems to have decided how they plan to increase Vita sales. Through the PS4. The Vita becomes more valuable through remote play. If they have exclusive features for Vita involving remote play, it makes it a better buy. They did make a mistake making the memory card mandatory on some games. But a price drop should help. I believe they are trying Japan first to see if it really is the price. That and Japanese buy a ton of handhelds.

After E3 there will probably be...

Ok, now I've read your article. Some of the issues you mentioned are addressed in my first post. Grocery stores usually sell their shelf space. At least they do in America. That's why Coke has thirty two variations on the shelf and local or regional drinks can't get in. It may be the case with your stores too.

So you may ask why Sony hasn't bought space? I'm not a business major either, but I do know that Sony is a company financially struggling company. ...

You're right. I didn't read the article. But my comment wasn't directed at you. It was directed at fanboys that think every Sony product that doesn't fly off the shelf is being held back one way or another. The reality is retailers aren't going to waste space or effort on things that won't generate traffic. Or Sony has to pay for the space to try and sell more consoles. I will read the article and comment directly on it though.

People love to cry foul when their favorite products don't do well. They want to blame anything and everything but refuse to recognize the truth. The Vita doesn't sell because people don't want it. It has nothing to do with how retail treats. Or games. Companies do buy shelf space in some businesses. But stores have a vested interest in products doing well.

If people wanted the Vita it would be out front because it would drive the traffic that makes the real mone...

This Microsoft doesn't do hardcore crap is old, wrong and plain stupid.

@Cupid_Viper_3

Did you really think that through when you listed those games. Two of five are casual. Three barely sold. What the hell is PASBR. Pabst Blue Ribbon. Oh, it Playstation All-Stars. So you use three casual games from Sony as your argument that Microsoft has forgotten the hardcore. And I retort by adding All-stars to the list of games that didn't sell.

There is a $10 royalty fee the developer pays to make the game for a given console. In the past, companies waved that fee for first party games. This generation they started out doing it, but as they go to bigger titles, they started to charge the extra ten dollars and kept it as extra profit. They never stopped once they started. Some PC titles eventually raised their prices to match the consoles even though they pay no royalty. It was pure greed.

The big guys jumped on online codes, but the small guys usually don't have as much of an online presence. The single player part will be more important to them. Digital will eventually solve this problem. But for at least the first few years of this generation, blocking used games might be the best option.

I do at least hope we will see more discounts on digital titles to push that along.

I believe they are going to replace XNA. The huge change in architecture is the reason I believe they dropped it. I think the replacement will be geared toward using the GPU more as a compute component.

@Nuke

It's kind of a big deal in Japan. Remember they though the original Xbox was too big. Now you're asking them to have two separate consoles. So not a big deal in most of the world, big deal in Japan where space is at a premium.

I think small developers will be the first to do this. They have the most to lose from used games. CoD sales 20 million copies, but a small developer selling 500,000 copies wants every copy sold to have money coming back to them. If they make a hit, it keeps them alive as a company.

@m-s-8-2

Computers get more and more powerful every year and the games cost less than consoles. As hard as it was to program for the PS3, they still kept prices at $60. Now they have two systems that are modified computers and the modifications are things that make programming easier and people think because the games look better it had to be more expensive. The word corporation is synonymous with pimp. Well, only kinda because people make it so easy for them.

I think Nintendo would be the most likely to file for Chapter 11 if we're talking gamin only. Microsoft is making a ton on gaming. Sony should be fine over the long run with the PS4. But the Wii U doesn't look like a good option. Not only will it look outdated almost immediately by the PS4 and 720. But as the years go on the others will distance themselves even more. The pad doesn't really offer anything the others don't have, but the others have power that can't be overco...

These are the same analyst that trick people into losing their life savings in the market. But that doesn't mean you have to ignore the information you are getting. There is some truth to what they say about Sony's problems. Short-term. But long-term the PS4 goes a long way toward making things right again.

Analyst usually rip a company in the press to chase the Average Joe away from it so that their insider friends can buy it cheaper in a couple of months. Then they ...

People are making way too big a deal out of this. It's not like this machine should have any major heat problems. I'm sure this is about saving something for E3 or just a matter of picking the proper curtains. I don't see how there could be any technical issues.

I would bet it's more than 4.5 times more powerful.

Not a big deal. A lot of companies do this. Smart companies do this. Our governments do this. These are the people that can best help you protect your machines and networks. The FBI and CIA hire these people. It's not a big deal. It's been this way for years.
