I would love another Brute Force and MechAssault.
Perfect example of why you don't feed into the specs too much. I think everyone knows the Wii U won't be able to compete with the PS4 and 720 on physics and number of things on the screen and destruction. But, it will have better graphics than the PS3 and 360 are capable of. And we are reaching the end of the graphics road.
I think EA has erred if they believe anyone will pay that much on a mobile game.
I think BC is very important. I like being able to give away an old condole to a niece or nephew. But in the case of the PS4 I understand it. From what I've heard is is extremely hard to get the Cell any smaller because of heat issues. Then it seems that it can't be placed on a single die with the GPU for the same reasons. If that is the case, it dies add too much cost and isn't worth it to add the chips to the PS4.
Leave Star Wars 1313 alone...leave it alone. All it wants to do is bring something beautiful into our lives. Leave it alone.
I think people are missing the point of charging for online play. The infrastructure needed to run that system and secure it cost 100's of millions a year. Microsoft chooses to charge customers to cover those cost. Sony chooses not to. I appreciate what Sony is doing. But I have no problem with what Microsoft is doing. I think people are delusional to think that anyone should take on that expense for free. I will say that PSN + is a good way to get people to pay. But I still have no probl...
No one is saying that there aren't people within a company that cares about whatever it is that they're doing. Ken Kutaragi cared. But those aren't always the best people to put in charge. He loved gaming so much it got him fired. When you borrow money and sell stock, you have a responsibility to others that comes before your loves. If you only want to care about the products and throw caution to the wind, buy back all of your stock and go private. Until then, you have to make sma...
Wait a minute. NeverEnding was serious?
The average person in Japan might have 4k. But in the US it took the government to make studios and networks to go to HD period. They won't get pushed into another upgrade so soon. No one on the upper management side want HD because of cost. And no one in front of the camera wanted HD because of what it would show. I knew a lot of reporters that didn't want it to happen.
But it will open another market to them. They need to add external hard drives for this though.
@Mikemyers
I disagree but from the standpoint that since consoles are closed systems they are a better platform to see what best parts can do when optimized. If consoles were to update more often it would be the best situation.
I am hoping Steambox will be just that. A system that takes a small selection of parts that make a total of 3 or 4 specs for game makers to target. Those specs would then be used by each PC manufacturer to make a case around. Maybe Nvi...
I'm not really sure what we've actually seen. We now know that the APU will run at 2ghz instead of the 1.6. Maybe. How much else was left out. They mention the power of the GPU and not the CPU. No one has said what the changes were to the CPU. There is still a lot to reveal.
It's just as crazy as people claiming Sony is winning next generation when no one has seen anything of the 720.
Games like Uncharted are just a re-imaginings of material like those books. If he had had the ability to make a game instead of writing a book maybe he would have made Uncharted. But based on the little we have seen of the new game it's hard to say it was inspired by Uncharted. It could just as easily been Tomb Raider. But the overall idea is definitely based on Quartermain. Especially since it's based on the adventures of his Great-great Grandson following in his footsteps.
Oh my god. He just said Sony is forgetting the core gamer. Why would they want other peoples money just because they are a business.
@ATI
You won't find too much forward thinking on this site. Just box living.
But will will always need new boxes of some kind. For control and the systems that drive them. You can't always have a 43 inch TV everywhere you go.
I think the problem is not that the focus isn't on games, the focus has been on hardware capable of really making what the developer wants to do. Indie games are have no chose because they have to focus on the experience. Big developers focus on the mainstream because that is where the majority pushes them. Most of the buzz has been on the power of the PS4. Just like it was for the PS3. People want to know how much better it's going to look. But that was really all the hardware offere...
Not if Uncharted was inspired by it.
Actually when you think about experiences being beamed into your mind we will move closer to being like paraplegics. Many people won't want to do anything when you can have everything exactly how you want it beamed into your head. If they have the money they will spend their entire day hook to a device that gives them the perfect experience all day long. The new drug.
I think it eventually will be. As more money becomes involved it will be packaged and marketed. I'm sure no one thought skateboarders would be on TV 20 years ago. With time the old ways die off and new things take their place. There was a time when actors were looked down on. They were considered no better than prostitutes. Now actors awards shows are big business and everyone wants to know actors.
With each generation more people are gamers and what they love will deter...
All racing games look better in photo mode. I'm sure this looks much better in it's photo mode.
@Vallagard
Look in the lower right corner. It's pre-Alpha footage.
I think the problem is that people are stuck with the idea that Kinect is just for casual games. Hands free control devices are used for more than gaming. It is a move toward better things than having a standard controller in your hands. The next Kinect will have a better connection to the console and more power built into it. It's just a matter of people taking advantage of it and having more imagination than a bunch of fanboys. Many said it wouldn't work at all. Now they just compla...
