What do you mean by doesn’t use the PS5 features? It is enhanced through a BC layer, running at native 4K at 60fps on PS5 and Series X(with an optional 1440p 120fps mode on Series X) but on One X and PS4 Pro, the 60 fps modes are capped at 1440p. On next-gen, you’re getting the quality mode at 60fps which is a pretty sweet deal.
I am not an RE veteran by any means but I have found standard to be incredibly easy. Much easier than the RE 2 and 3 remakes.
It was
You’re talking about input lag, which was an issue, but at 60fps that’ll already reduce input lag, but on top of that, they said they are reducing input lag in the game and addressing that specifically.
If Cyberpunk wasn’t enhanced, it wouldn’t have its DRS Ranges adjusted and wouldn’t see visual settings tweaked. It also wouldn’t see a 60fps performance option. Cyberpunk is enhanced, but it is still getting a proper, native next-gen version. Mass Effect Legendary is enhanced just like Star Wars Jedi Fallen Order Was(which now is going to also get a native next-gen version this summer)
You have to discern the difference between a game enhanced via a backwards compatibility layer that IS enhanced but isn’t natively ported to next-gen consoles. This is the former. It currently has BC targeted enhancements on PS5 and Series X until it gets it’s dedicated next-gen patch. It’s enhanced either way—end of story. Especially on the Xbox side where Series X has extra settings none of the other consoles have like increased NPC density and ambient occlusion
It’s not a mistake. There are tons of games that got patches from devs like warzone and Overwatch and samurai shodown and rocket league and the list goes on that include 120fps modes on Series X that don’t on PS5(in the case of overwatch, it had 3 graphics modes on series X with no PS5 specific update whatsoever to this date) and this is simply because it’s much easier working with existing code base on the Xbox platforms than the PlayStation platforms. With warzone, for example, the devs sa...
Now where are all those people saying it wouldn’t be enhanced for PS5 and Series X at now? 😉 They said time and time again “targeted enhancements” for next-gen. Just not a native port, so it’s not going to the extent of what a native port would look like, but it is next-gen enhanced and that info sheet ends the debate once and for all 😌
The VG Tech video just posted shows side by side and you can see ps5 drops more often and drops lower sometimes when it does drop. Not a big deal because it still runs well, but based on both videos, Series X runs this game slightly better with RT on.
The max resolution should be significantly higher in both. 1440p dynamic on One X for a remastered PS3 game that still looks like a PS3 game is atrocious
The fact that it’s not a remake that looks cutting edge only is more reason it should be running at higher resolutions as it’s pushing less demanding technology and yet it runs at lower resolutions on these consoles than most 8th-gen only games. Make it make sense.
Also, no one is more focused about FPS and resolution than the game itself here. Simply criticism a game for how it looks or how it runs does not equate to a criticism of the game as a whole product. Discussions...
Sad thing is even if they did a hypothetical next-gen patch, considering how awful the current version is with resolution set-ups. I doubt they’d even hit 4K on PS5 or Series X.
It’s not about how bad it looks. It’s about how low resolution it is across all systems. The heart of the criticism is that a game that looks this bad should NOT be running at sub-720p on base Xbox One or sub-1080p on PS4 Pro, especially when Automata looks better and is doing more and runs a higher resolution across all consoles. The resolution profiles do not make sense
2 minor corrections:
-Yakuza 6 was not remastered. It’s only Xbox One X enhanced. Got no Series X enhancements. There’s the PC version, but then all the other Yakuza games also have PC versions
-based on my pixel counts combined with what we know about Yakuza Like a Dragon, highly likely Judgment remaster is 1440p.
Yes, the original was Ps4 only but the remaster is on both next generation consoles which would make sense. Probably drumming up interest in a multiplatform sequel
I played like a dragon at 4K 30fps because it’s turn-based, but for this traditional Yakuza combat, 60fps all the way. Makes such a difference
This does not run at 4K. It’s closer to 1440p, which given Yakuza: Like a Dragon’s 60fps mode was also 1440p, isn’t surprising.
The game, like all dragon engine titles, was extremely let down by the limited hardware. Awful
Image quality even on PS4 Pro and more input lag than most modern 30fps games. Dragon engine always felt constrained by PS4. This remaster has made Judgment so much more enjoyable
Check the most recent trailer description, which says exactly what I said “targeted enhancements” just like the original announcement blog post. It’s not a native next-gen version. It is doing something similar to like the Star Wars patch, which isn’t a native next-gen port so have fun being wrong once the remaster is out and we see it IS enhanced for next-gen. Just not to the extent to make full use of their capabilities 😌
@nick
The other significant difference between the versions is loading times as well. Because it’s a BC game, there is a much more significant loading advantage for Xbox than PS5 when it has the loading advantage in native next-gen apps and here’s the one video I could find comparing loading
https://youtu.be/y3Ex5WaYV9...
Does the loading comparison around 30 seconds in
