“Pop-in is ridiculous”

Maybe on Series S but the Series X version is using the PC version’s ultra preset for draw distance/LoD

For starters, can’t expect perfection when it’s the entire world. Secondly, are you using the full internet simulation? Lastly, have you downloaded the world update for the US?

If you need the inability to switch difficult mid-game from doing it, then that means you don’t really have perseverance? You say being forced or play on so and so taught you perseverance but yet having a toggle go knock the game down on a whim somehow makes your experience different? If you’re at all tempted just because the option is there, then you don’t really have the perseverance you claim to have so the entire conceit behind your argument is flawed.

One X and Pro did not render at the same resolution. One X was higher.

This is not a bug. Their FAQ says save data would not be transferred over on PlayStation. This is far from the first upgraded game to lose out on save data transfer on the PlayStation side

They tried battle royale with BF 5 and it failed to bring players back in. Highly doubt another go, but free, would be the ticket to success

A plague tale innocence has not been confirmed to support up to native 4K. The marketing says “4K”, but it could be reconstructed like, say, Metro Exodus is reconstructed from a DRS that goes as low as 1080p. Considering how demanding A Plague Tale was, I wouldn’t be surprised if with the doubled framerate and enhanced settings, it won’t be native 4K.

I can see the argument for not having cross-play between console and PC in a game like this, but at the very least they should enable cross-play between PS5 and Series consoles to ensure the player-bases remain as strong as possible

They don’t use hard disks so how can it murder them???

On the Xbox Store on the console itself it shows as 45 GB so I’m assuming since this included in the true colors ultimate edition that this 80GB nonsense is for the collection along with true colors

Getting a switch port but not a ps5/series X port???? Okay

@zeref

Yes it is. Nothing is stopping Microsoft from giving us the option of keeping One X code as an option regardless of what the framerate is. Their reasoning for using base Xbox one code is for PERFECTLY LOCKED framerates and in many cases, I’d rather take a slightly variable level of performance here and there for significantly better visuals. Hell, Shadow of The Tomb Raider feels like it slipped through the cracks as it’s one of the few FPS Boost titles that is NOT 10...

What you’re highlighting are from the first 2 batches, which my comment already addressed. It was a VERY SMALL number of games that needed sacrifices so it was safe to assume they were outliers. Now with 97 games, 20 of them using Xbox One base code(and a large portion also just being games that never got enhanced to begin with so it’s not actually 77 enhanced One X titles that keep them), it’s a much larger issue than the first 2 batches indiciated. It wasn’t until the final batch in late Ap...

The issue with games not running One X enhancements as not as simple as you state as again, the first 2 batches had games that worked with One X enhancements. Prey, UFC 4, and Skyrim ran with Xbox One X enhancements. Then in the final batch, we got Shadow of the Tomb Raider. The issue is the inconsistency.

Microsoft taking the “exploit” away that used to exist for still running with One X code in Fallout 4. That workaround got removed which is disappointing.

As a person that’s been a huge fan of Microsoft’s focus on the backwards compatibility experience compared to Sony this gen, I’m unhappy with the state of FPS Boost. All they have to do to fix the main concern is offer the player choice of letting users keep one X enhancements with FPS Boost enabled. For all we know, some of the games they revert to base Xbox One code at running 50-60fps during normal gameplay and to ME, losing out on like 4 times the resolution and settings enhancements is n...

But there’s also 13 games that get FPS Boost on Series X that don’t get it on Series S and another number of game that have higher framerate targets with FPS Boost on Series X than Series S so it’s actually not that cut and dry. It’s pretty disappointing on both ends. The cases where it works as intended or as people may have initially thought it would turn out are too few.

As if next-gen exclusive launch titles have never existed? Yet here we are almost a year after launch and they aren’t out yet. New console exclusive games at launch window are often developed under assumptions of what the specs might be, then they adjust design once they get the dev kits and/or more concrete info in the system’s specs

I told you they weren’t because this wasn’t enhanced under a backwards compatibility layer. It’s a native next-gen application. The only times devs use the pro versions is games updated under BC. Not native ps5 apps.

1693d ago 3 agree0 disagreeView comment

Uh considering this is a native next-gen application, I’m sure PS5 will also run this at native 4K 60fps. This isn’t back compat+. This is a native next-gen version of the game.

They ARE making a new Mass Effect. The remaster was not done by the entirety of BioWare. It was a smaller team that worked over we don’t know how long but this remaster has not interfered with another Mass Effect. It’s happening. I’m happy we got Legendary Edition. Improved assets at 4K 60fps makes it so much better
