For me, I wouldn't say it's brand loyalty. I'm not a Sony fan, but I'm a playstation fan. I have a ps3 that I've paid for and I like it cause it has good games. I also have a 360 and I liked it too (though it's drying up right now).

Now, the thing I have against this Geohot guy; I've said this time and time again, but I'll say it again: he just a guy who wants attention, thinking that by taking on "the man" (as if Sony is that; they&...

I can't agree or not if all 3d will cause eye pain, because I haven't spent much time with it. But if these are the types of reports coming out about the 3DS, I will not go near it. I already wear glasses/contacts, and I'm worried about my eyes as it is, staring into computer screens as much as I do. I would not want to cause any additional problems, so no thanks, I say.

In a year or so, if they come out with another version that still has the 3d but doesn't ...

No, the "3D"S would not have done better without the 3D. Nintendo has learned that a gimmick will sell the hardware, like the Wii had. Without the 3d, this would not sell as much as it will with it.

@palaeomerus

Heh, when you say it like that, (all the games are published by EA) I was thinking about Activision. Why doesn't Fox go bother Activision and call out CoD games for having violence? It's not as bloody, but it's done in a much more realistic manner, which might be worse (cartoony over the top violence vs realistic).

But of course they would never do that; they'd be too scared to bring any criticism against CoD, because it's so...

That probably true, but you know what? Nowadays if I see Fox news putting out articles like this, I actually laugh at it. If they have to go this low to generate interest in their news, then that shows you how pathetic and worthless their "actual" news really is.

I know, but violence is in a lot of games now. I really wonder if they're picking on Bulletstorm because of Epic's involvement? I get the feeling that Fox news missed their chance on Gears, so now they're trying to call attention to the violence in Bulletstorm, falsely assuming that Epic is also "making" it ...?

Some negative attention is fine, like the commercials that Dead Space 2 had, but too much of it will eventually hurt them, I think.

Unfortunately, Fox news will be around forever. Why? Because as long as there are dumb people (people who listen and believe without thinking or researching) in the world, they will be successful. The rate of dumb people is going up, fast.

That's true, and it's nice to hear him admit that at least (I won't even mention Activision). When this guy talks, it makes sense and he seems to be a good businessman.

Sigh, more people trying to justify their stealing. Just admit that pirating games is theft. There is NO excuse.

And how can you look at the biggest selling game ever and assume it works for every single game on the market? What about those game publishers/developers who don't have 100 million in marketing money to get their game noticed and on tv? It's those types of developers who will get poor sales due to piracy, and their studio's shut down.

No no no. The banhammer is "thirsty." For pirate blood. C'mon, hammers don't get hungry :/

I would be happier if there was no warning, and it was permanent "bricks," not bans. That would be awesome. All these losers waking up to use their ps3 online, and ... BRICK.

"freedom to name and 'be' my character? Gone"

Then you must have hated Mass Effect 1 and 2. I seriously think this is a good thing, because now you can "be" the character that they've given you and you can do what you want as him. Your character in Dragon Age was pathetic; he just stood there, mute, and it took away from the life and dialog of the whole world around you. I hope it's more like Mass Effect IN the dragon age...

Explain to me why the PC gets shoddy, run-down, crappy releases of consoles games. Explain to me why they're all almost an afterthought of the consoles versions, and why they have no support or patches, usually (only a few companies now are an exception to this: Valve, Blizzard, maybe 1 or 2 others).

The ps3 is NOT the 360 (the 360 sells regardless, while the ps3, people almost have to force themselves to buy in the US). I don't get it, it's a great system, but i...

I'll try not to repeat what other people are saying, about the piracy thing: where did this need to justify and idolize (if that's the right word) come from? Video game pirates of course will justify it so they won't see it as stealing ("I wasn't going to buy it," "it sucked anyway," "I had no interest in the game anyway,") but why would more and more people try to justify this, as if it's a normal part of the world?

Yeah, so Bad Company 2 should be rated at about 40 hours so far, for me. The single player took about 4 hours, the multiplayer I loved and keep playing.

Very dubious statement, considering multiplayer should never be listed in gameplay hours. That's like putting a hard limit on the max hours you'll play the online experience (i.e. "it might get boring after 50 hours or so"), which they shouldn't ever talk about. They should just say it's a deep expe...

"...but when you create bad blood with your customer base, you certainly aren't planning for future success. "

Activision proves this wrong. I'm not saying it's right, what they're doing, but there's lots of companies out there, Ubisoft included, who do just fine after pissing off some (or many, in Activision's case) of their fans.

Good to know. I love BC2, but the level system ... ugh. I had everything unlocked at level 20 or so (not sure on the exact number) and remember thinking ... now what? The entire level system needs a huge re-organizing, and hopefully what he said about the unlocks and level system in BF3 is true.
