Same here. But he's right about one thing, SONY shouldn't have given ANYTHING in compensation, since they really don't owe us anything. THEN I would like to read these articles and laugh where whiners like this, instead of complaining, are begging for compensation and free stuff for their "time lost."

Don't get me wrong, Sony is pretty cool for giving a month free of PSN, and some future store downloads for free, but I hate it when people use it as...

No, it'll be fine. See, everyone right now is fighting over the best price to get the most sales. Best buy puts a sale up on a pre-order, and so Amazon price matches (as they do) to get the sales. Or maybe Newegg will offer a better deal and Amazon will have to price match that, and so on.

Well, we can see even Amazon is even going with digital downloads, because they're putting those up for sale a LOT more often. What will happen in the future is, if everyone is dig...

I like it; concise, but covers all the points.

It's infuriating to me when people either have irrational anger or ignorance towards things they don't understand. And I don't even mean the inner workings of PSN, for example; there's no way any of us can know about that. I'm talking about your own personal info, your own credit card, etc. People who use a game system, use the internet, etc, HAVE to know your information is never safe, this is a fact. This c...

LOWER movement speed? I thought they sped things up to be faster than Gears 2. Wasn't that the whole point, to find a middle ground between Gears 1 and 2 because 2 was so slow?

Based on the last 3 or 4 "ground-breaking" announcements that Microsoft has promised and fallen short on (can you call releasing the original xbox live gamertags as "falling short" though; seriously), I'm assuming the announcement will be barf, eyeball-rolling, "ugh" worthy.

I agree. Everyone needs to take a deep breath and relax. I don't think anything bad has happened to ANYONE yet. I'm guessing, like you, most of these are crap, but on the off chance that something actually does happen to the 1 or 2 out of 70 million, then just call the number on the back of your credit card and ask for the fraud department. Done.

My God, people are so easily frightened nowadays.

C'mon, I have such hopes for this game, they CAN'T mess it up. Look, this is the ONLY thing I'm looking forward to on the 360; if this game turns out out good, then great, I'm happy. If this game turns out to be crap, I will probably not touch my 360 for the rest of this year, and who knows about next year.

Damn Epic, always over-hyping their games. I did learn my lesson this time though: I will not pre-order Gears 3 like I did for Gears 2. I'll wait, not ...

Even though it seems like it, this is NOT related because it happened to a friend of mine too who does NOT have a playstation. Her address book all got sent this weird email too. I got one from here and it was pretty strange.

There's been a rash of these hacks going around. About 1 month ago, I received emails from Best Buy, Capital One, Chase, Bank of America, Meijer, and a bunch of others saying their info was hacked too and my personal info and email address were take...

@LunaticBrandon

Then why didn't it? 5 years have passed, what has happened that was so bad on the PSN? I keep seeing these comments, and they boggle the mind. Sony has had the most secure system in place among the 3 systems, but the one time they go down by hackers, people complain about their security? If you own a store and, despite your cameras and security system, it gets broken into and robbed, will you be happy when people complain about your pitiful security?

I think you meant "mecha-gojira."

p.s. I'm not a nerd (you can't prove it).

1m copies? Can you link to a place that says that? I'm not saying your lying, I just thought Gears 1 on PC bombed. The whole time it was all about how piracy and bad sales killed Gears on the PC, but 1m copies is actually really good for a game that was out more than a year on the 360.

The thing about releasing more information than is necessary is that things can backfire. They don't want to release the actual attack details because who knows? Maybe other people will see this as a sign of weakness and attack them again. Let them fix it first an then we'll see if they're willing to share. I don't think many people will care once the PSN is back up.

*sigh* IGN again, huh?

PEOPLE SHOULD GET NOTHING AT ALL. NOTHING. Stop trying to profit on other's misfortunes.

PS Plus members should get a credit for the time missed though.

@darkpower

Are you for real? Wow, no, I think you ARE that gullible.

I've said this a few times already, but here it is again ... how is Sony in ANY way responsible for this? Unless EVERYONE is lying and Sony disconnected their service to piss everyone off for the holiday weekend (completely unlikely), then we're going to assume hackers did something. How is that Sony's fault? If no one did anything to them, PSN would be up right now and people wo...

Agreed. I blame them and their circular, twisted logic as well.

I think it's funny, though, what he said about anonymous getting "stronger" the more people blame them for this (i.e. more people will change their views on anonymous). My thinking is more along these lines: gamers are hating them more and more and this is their damage control. If they are actually getting more support and sympathy, then they wouldn't post this video.

I don't see what they were trying to prove, because that is a point that has been beaten to death already; nobody really cares anymore. The only thing new out of this, I hope they realize, is if one of them shows up somewhere with that mask, they run the risk of getting their ass handed to them.

@Raiinstorm81 and RememberThe357

Nail on the head, 100% correct.

Sony might be a large corporation, but guess what: if it's a choice between siding with them and "selling out" or with these jerk-offs who keep hacking with their twisted logic and morals against fighting "the man," then call me a sell out.

I just wish the FBI would get involved in this already, even if it's not Anonymous who did it. A couple of those...

It's possible DICE doesn't have the knowhow of the GoW or Uncharted developers; it's possible, but we can never know.

BUT, even if they COULD make the game better on the ps3, I don't think they want to. Think about it: the game will sell better on the 360, no question. Every game does, pretty much, so you can't really argue that point. Now, competition is everywhere, especially from buyers. If you make the PC version the best, but make the ps3 version bet...

Exactly, Nintendo is just finding that sweet spot between when the "actual" next gen starts (sony and ms) and how much they can cash in on it.

There are things Nintendo could do, like appeal to good game publishers/developers, to actually make the Wii a casual AND hardcore system, produce more/better first party titles, get some better exclusives, filter the shovelware better, etc. BUT this is Nintendo, and I think they realize that they don't need to do any of...
