I also like how he's getting slammed on his own site. Read the comments, pretty funny.
I found it better to play it in the dark with headphones. You hear EVERYTHING that way. Maybe not surround, but every noise you heard would make you spin your character around :)
I played gears 1, but I played 2 more. I bought into the hype, but it got boring fast. Single player was forgettable, multiplayer had issues, but Horde was great. Problems though:
1: Online multiplayer was kinda bad; not the gameplay, but the connection issues, lag, and a bit of cheating. They fixed some of it, but I think a lot of people stopped playing before they got around to it. They also need, along with EVERY other online shooter, to add host migration. Every online game n...
that 13 year olds playing shooters (M rated games in particular) sucks. I don't give a crap about kids having their precious minds ruined by playing games they shouldn't (probably not until I have kids), but what a world it would be if little kids were only playing their little kiddie games and screaming in their high-pitched voices while playing those, and leaving the shooters and M rated games to us. Ah, to dream.
It's been a while since I built a gaming PC; I've mainly used laptops for a while. If I was to build this machine, and later decided I wanted to do a crossfire config, does it have to be the EXACT model number of graphics card, or anyone's Radeon 5770 card (i.e. some other manufacturer other than XFX)?
for this line: "No matter what, tell them you are the original owner of the console."
So just outright lie to them? I don't love M$ or anything, but since when is lying and pretending the way to go? BS article.
... but you should know it).
LAGOON, for SNES. If you don't know that game, you're missing out on a great RPG and the BEST soundtrack on the snes, hands down. Many of the soundtracks they mention are good (Chronotrigger is awesome, SotN has some great tracks, Metroid had a few good ones, Zelda, maybe a few good ones), but it's mostly a track here, a track there, with filler in between. Lagoon actually had the best soundtrack, in that there was nothing you could point to and say i...
just this: Assassin's Creed 3 will NEVER touch the PC. Ever. Just watch.
If fact, I wouldn't be surprised if, for the next round of Ubisoft games, they ignore the PC completely and only focus on consoles. I know it's extreme, but so was their DRM attempt.
But the Wii is finished, game wise. Let me explain: the hacking and modding of pirated games on the wii is so extensive, that only 1st party (mario, metroid, wii sports/fit) are going to sell well. Jeez, the stupid thing is soft moddable ! (no hardware changes, no opening up the system). My bro was looking into buying a wii, so we looked on craigslist; there's tons of people selling modded systems with every game in the library. Now, it's the same for the 360, but at least the 360 games sell ...
What Fox is saying, in case no one can understand the simple words he used: He said "I think," meaning, this is all his opinion. Then he says it's as much justice as that analogy he used. i.e. He's backing MS, saying the justice they got (terrible injustice, in his opinion), was as bad as that criminal getting off easy for what he did.
Anyway, I don't much care for the big guy myself, but to be honest, a lot of people (companies, lawyers) can't wait for a corporation t...
There's so many things wrong with this article, I can't even believe it. I know it's supposed to be fact along with his opinion, but the assumptions and hypocrisy, wow.
Like everyone knows, the number of people who use the other OS feature is very, very small. Now, if they're doing something very important, like those companies who use the ps3's for supercomputers, then they're not playing games anyway; they can skip the patch and be perfectly happy. Everyone else who wants to play games: prioritize. Is linux on your ps3 more important than your games?
I'm getting really tired how more and more articles are coming out, trying to sensationalize t...
The unreal engine is updated all the time. It's the most used engine so they have to keep working on it. It's maybe why Epic's engine quality goes up while their games' gameplay doesn't :/
In my opinion, the enreal engine is looking old and worn out. To be honest, I've seen too many games already that look almost exactly like those screen shots, and I'm getting sick of it. The cryengine is looking nice, and, as much as I liked the unreal engine, hopefully there's enough power in the cryengine that a lot of (good) developers start using it to make some competition.
Only the Wii, out of all the other major systems, had disappointing titles. 360 and PS3 kicked butt, and will continue to. This is what I see happening to the Wii: less to play on it as developers leave in bunches (no one buys non first-party games (look up the numbers), too much piracy), and whoever is left playing on the system will just be waiting for the next Mario game. Or Zelda. Or Mario Kart. Or Mario Tennis... If I was a developer, I would not even look at the Wii as a viable option t...
... But like another comment mentioned, graphics doesn't make a game. However, Witcher was not bad, so based on that, and assuming they made improvements, this game could turn out pretty good.
Was it just me, or did those reasons prove the exact opposite?
New battle system = like final fantasy 12 = I hate it; wished for the old system back; too much like an MMO
No towns = dumbed down, simplified the game, less to do, less sidequests
No waiting for the story = main plot is ALL there is; same as previous; some quieter/slower parts to a story are good because they make the rest stand out more;
Sazh = no comment

What about the Mass Effect 1 end credits music? I thought that was the best music to end ANY game in a long time.
I agree with some of the other choices here as well; Assassin's Creed 1 had a good and tense battle theme during the main fights, and AC2 was good as well; Halo is the obvious choice, if only for the main theme. And Tales of Vesperia had one of the best soundtracks I've seen in any recent game, but I guess it didn't have any 1 distinct awesome track...
As nice as it would be to see Mass Effect come to the ps3, I would like this better: Gears on the ps3. Before Gears 3, epic releases a $60 pack for Gears 1 and Gears 2 on the ps3, then the 3rd installment in April '11, or whenever it's coming out. That would be awesome.
To be honest, monthly fees for a game that should be free to play after purchase (not WoW, obviously, but Starcraft 2?!!) is worse than any DRM. I wasn't a fan of Ubisoft after their terrible DRM, but at least part of me can understand it (trying to protect their product by any means necessary). This, however, (even if it's just in Russia for now) is just a tactic to milk more money from customers; and this is already in a struggling economy. I don't know who's to blame for this, Activision o...
