I'm not sure about the laws, but let's say you can modify hardware legally. I don't think you can do a ps3 hack without modifying software, which is illegal. They're so interconnected that unless you have a hardware mod for the ps3, like some other systems, then you're breaking the law because you modified the software on the ps3. Just my opinion, but if this is true, then ANY jailbreak mod on the ps3 right now is illegal.
Hell, I'd send them all to jail, but I think Lociefer has the right idea now :) jk
While I agree with the title and the snippet above, the whole article is a mess. Maybe it's just because I'm getting old, but do people even have English (or Language class) in school anymore? Not only that but the last 2 paragraphs are the only ones relevant to Killzone 3, and there's no new information.
Anyway, can't wait for the game. This might be the first game I pre-order (yeah, I can't believe it either).
I agree, I'm also not the biggest LBP fan. I didn't finish the first game and probably won't buy the 2nd, but not because I dislike it; I just don't have the time to put into it's creation tools or user made levels. BUT I can see how it's unique and creative, and I can't see how they (destructoid) can give Mario Galaxy 2 a perfect 10 while this game gets a 7.5. Especially after reading the review, it looks more like someone either wanting publicity for going agains...
Um, they gave Super Mario Galaxy 2 (a copy/paste sequel) a 10 (a freakin' ten; the game was good, but a 10?) and they say Little Big Planet 2 is a 7.5? Where's the thinking?
Who approves this crap?
What I don't understand is that it only goes that far (banning of consoles, banning online play, etc.). Why don't the big companies (SONY, MS) report them to the authorities, especially here in the US? Stealing games is a crime, so why not get them jail time? Seriously, the best way to combat piracy is to put them in jail, I think. Nothing else is working. People will say that Sony should like it because they'll get more console sales, but that's bs; Sony will lose some custom...
These guys are the most hypocritical people. If they just want their fame, they could show that they've done it WITHOUT RELEASING IT TO THE PUBLIC. They must truly hate Sony, because by releasing this to everyone, they're condoning piracy as if they caused it themselves. If they had just said "we've done it, but you're not getting it," that would have been commendable and Sony might have gotten in touch with them. Now, EVERY gaming system is a mess. Why won't the...
This article is pathetic. Sony removed it because of hacking, so they're blamed by hackers for removing it? And it's sites like this that exacerbate the situation and make sony look bad for trying to keep their system safe.
What you mentioned for Dragon Age is not equal though. The game is not broken and unplayable. Unfortunately, for a lot of people on ps3 and PC (and 360, if what some people say is true) the game is broken and unplayable. The list of complaints on the ps3 CoD forums is staggering; I've honestly never seen anything like it.
And you can return some games. Amazon will let you return games that don't work. I'm not saying it's right for everyone to return it, but A...
I wonder how much Activision would charge for DLC like this?
I was about to say the same thing. You better HOPE it gets fixed in 1 patch now, because if it's more, the game's going to turn into bug soup.
Completely agree. At least when Gears 2 was having problems, I think the dev's would post in the forums and get feedback (even though it took them forever to fix it).
I would hope it would bother them that 9 out of 10 posts (at least) on their own ps3 forums are hating on the game and complaining about problems, but still their community manager just tweets about random crap ...? It's like they don't even care what the people think.
Completely agree. I got BC2 for the PC for super cheap (like 10 bucks on the EA store on sale). I hadn't played a competitive pc shooter since UT 2004, so it took a bit of time to get back into it :) But I can honestly say that I'm enjoy it, where I always had a pre-conceived notion and assumed I would hate all of those "army shooters" (bad company, socom, CoD). The game is really fun though, and this is the first time I have bought DLC for a game (Vietnam).
Bad Company 2 is pretty realistic. I have only played the PC version, but I don't think the console are any different. For realism, it's still a game, but it has some things: gravity, time for bullets to reach target, etc.
Jeez, that's some update.
Until they actually release the map names and descriptions, I wouldn't assume they're new. This is activision, so "new" might mean "new for Black Ops." This might be 2 new, 2 remakes (probably of MW2, of all things) and 1 zombie, who knows. But still, $15? That's a lot.
I don't know about you, but I would like to see games on the ps3 with MLAA and in NATIVE 1080p, not up-scaled graphics. Now, if the ps3 has no limits, this should be possible. Please make it happen; my tv is now 52" and I'm now seeing the difference between a 1080p (still nice) picture and a 720p (ugh, not so much on 52").
@gapecanpie
What if the ps3 charged you to use those features that you bought and paid for already; what if the OtherOS feature that was removed, instead cost you monthly to continue to use it. You'd be even more pissed.
Now think about the 360. You bought the system in the hopes of playing games, and they're charging you $60 a year. Are you not pissed?
And higher cost...? Really, you can't find a deal on a ps3? A similar 360 (bi...
True, but from what he showed in the article, up to this point they've been about the same (if you don't own a PC). Nice article for a change, how about that?
BUT, next year, yes you're right, ps3 is going to mop the floor with the 360. If MS only focuses on Kinect and Gears 3 and Forza, they're in trouble in a lot of gamers' eyes.
