?? What's with these pitiful attempts at ps3 bashing tonight? In trouble? The only way Sony would be in trouble was if they had their headquarters near that nuclear plant. Sony is fine, and so is Microsoft. Listening to the words of a nobody give pitiful reasons why "Sony is in trouble" is not news.

Totally agree, one of the worst articles I've read. Well written, which is a plus on n4g articles, but c'mon? The ONLY thing that even has some credence is #2; I'll admit the game is not the most social. It's frustrating waiting on trophy sync'ing, communication, etc. But that's it, every other reason is complete ps3 hate, with the worst examples given. I won't list them, because everyone before me has already done a fine job, but ... pitiful attempt at ps3 bashing...

Yeah, but it's not only that. It's been mentioned before, but Infinity Ward (or, the the people who used to be Infinity Ward) are the ones who developed the engine. I'm sure there's some of them left with Activision, but I bet a lot of the people who designed the engine are gone. Treyarch can try, but I bet they won't get anywhere near what even the Infinity Ward guys could accomplish; definitely not anything resembling what DICE was able to accomplish.

People have to realize that the economy is still in terrible shape (natural disasters don't help the situation) and people don't have as much money. You just CAN'T make a game with a budget as big as homefront's, have massive advertising like it did, and then spout out about how it needs over 2m copies sold to break even. And even then the product itself wasn't that GREAT (I'm sure it was good, but nothing in the range of 8-10). This whole issue just adds up to a lot o...

I haven't played the game yet (it's in the mail) but I'm sure I'll agree with most of what you said. However, when you say something like: "The side-quests are boring," you can't put the word "FACT" behind it. Being boring is not a fact. You should say instead "MY OPINION."

I think a lot of the confusion is coming from the name "SecuROM." When people see that, they think back to the crap DRM that caused some harm to computers just by being installed. This is a different kind of DRM which is only for a release-date check, if I read the Bioware responses correctly. So this is not the same as what a LOT of people are assuming. Like the article says, you can still play the game without any of that crap installed.

@Teething

Couldn't have said it better myself. I see all these criticisms against EA and Bioware, when other publishers and developers get away with it (repetition? what about the same CoD for the past 3 games -> biggest seller ever; no offense to them, but it's true).

It seems to me these people who complain do so just for the sake of complaining. I guess you guys like creating all this negative feedback for a decent game and then would be happy i...

What does "stood up" even mean? Fight EA ... for what? They developed the game, if people don't like certain things about it, it's not EA. It was a design choice that Bioware made. I haven't played the game, and I'm guessing I'll like it less than Origins, but all choices are Bioware's choosing.

When you say stand up to them, what does that mean? Like Infinity Ward stood up to Activision?

If this is even true, and EA did ca...

Now what does that even mean? Not everyone has enough to make their own games, someone has to front the money.

I haven't played the game yet, but I'll say this: If EA did force them to release it fast, my guess it was because SW: The Old Republic has been in development for a long time and cash flow was getting low (I'm sure they keep the separate IP's separate; let's call it the "Bioware fund"). This is only a guess, but I think (if this is eve...

I'm considering breaking into a bank someday, can I get some money? Then I will STRONGLY consider it.

It's simple really: the people who complain about problems are vocal, and the people who have no problems are not; they're having fun playing the game.

I have had some problems, I'll be honest. But nothing that really killed it for me yet. If this patch fixes what it says, then that's awesome.

@palaeomerus

Why? Why are you canceling all your pre-orders and future purchases? Did they do something to you personally? I know what they did seems stupid, and I don't like it myself, but I also don't go calling people the devil just because they messed up one game; that's the height of immaturity. What, did that person put his entire life into waiting for DA:2, and it wasn't to his liking so he exploded?

Those games you mentioned are all g...

If I read it correctly, I think it was a 72 hour ban. He should have access to his stuff after that.

Bioware didn't do anything, EA did.

Sort of, but movies have many chances to make a profit. Theaters, dvd, bluray, pay-per-view, rentals, etc. Games only have the one chance make a sale, and that is retail price either in a store or online.

But how is this a ploy to end used game sales? Do they expect people to see that and feel sorry for them and buy it new as opposed to used? Even if that's true, 99% of the people will not even care.

But I agree, $120m, from 2m sales (assuming full reta...

I wish them luck, but shooting themselves in the foot is right. This game will not sell 2m copies for a LONG time, and only after a price drop me thinks. It's just too similar to other shooters out there. And I like THQ, and I'd LIKE to buy this, but I already have too many shooters.

Ugh, so true. It's not only pathetic, it's counter intuitive. That just means it'll take LONGER for the game to end because the losing team will just hide and snipe for the rest of the game.

A lot of these really do happen often, but it's weird how SO MANY THINGS can ruin a game of BC2, whereas in Black Ops, for example, you can just have maybe a camper, or a cheater, and that's it. Complex vs Simple I guess. Still my favorite shooter in recent memory.

I'm all for Sony for stopping piracy in THIS generation, but my hope is that everything they're learning will go toward their next system, making it even more secure without sacrificing any features.

5586d ago 6 agree4 disagreeView comment

I think they meant in terms of sales. Yeah, the 360 will sell well. But, um, where are the games? In terms of games, not so much.

You mentioned a few important things there: "Suprisingly though my wii library only consists of 3, 1st party titles." - Why is that? I'm not making fun or anything, my library is pathetic too, and I know about No More Heroes and how many people like it and all, but what's the excuse for people like you and me who own the system to not buy the good 3rd-party games for it? I can't explain it very well, but there's that feeling there that I'm not getting something a...
